Can’t say what @TheColbertinator opinion is, but, IMO, this is dumb, because it’s a singleplayer game. Do and require what you want from multiplayer games, but singleplayer games should support offline mode, without login requirement or extra downloads.
On top of that, i think it can hurt the customers. Reason – i have a PSN account, but i can’t use it anymore, because the country where i’m living have PSN shut down. This is something everyone who defends this decision should keep in mind, this can happen to anyone potentially. You can’t login to PSN, you can’t play the game, even if you “own” it.
