Marvel Rivals: Counters To Mister Fantastic

Marvel Rivals: Counters To Mister Fantastic

Summary

  • Iron Man can stay out of Mister Fantastic’s attack range by staying airborne, avoiding his ultimate.
  • Winter Soldier’s Bionic Hook can pull Mr. Fantastic into battle, leaving him vulnerable to attacks.
  • Wolverine can shred Mister Fantastic’s shields with his ferocious attacks, making him a strong counter.

Mister Fantastic was introduced to the Marvel Rivals roster, alongside The Invisible Woman, as part of the first half of Season 1. However, while this long-limbed Duelist is a ton of fun to play, being on the receiving end of his hard-hitting attacks isn’t quite as enjoyable, since he can be pretty difficult to deal with given his strength and attack range.

Marvel Rivals: How To Get All Free Skins

Marvel Rivals features a ton of free skins for its roster of iconic heroes. Here’s a guide on how to unlock all of them.

Simply put, if a team isn’t taking the necessary action to try and push back against Mister Fantastic and his stretchy abilities, it gives him the chance to pick off the team one by one, especially if he’s also got Strategists backing him up with health and damage boosts. Thankfully though, considering the staggering number of heroes and villains that are featured in Marvel Rivals, there are more than a few who can easily outmaneuver this deadly Duelist and who are well worth bringing out if he ever proves to be too much to handle.

Iron Man

By Remaining Airborne, Iron Man Stays Out Of Mister Fantastic’s Attack Range, And Can Also Avoid His Ultimate Entirely

Mister Fantastic possesses an incredible attack range, but thankfully, he doesn’t have any reliable projectiles to throw out in case anyone tries to stay far away from him. As a result, Iron Man can prove to be a real thorn in Fantastic’s side since he can remain airborne indefinitely, without sacrificing any of his own damage range in the process.

Not only can Iron Man therefore avoid Mister Fantastic’s basic attacks automatically, but he can also remain safe from Fantastic’s ultimate attack since it will only affect ground enemies. If Mister Fantastic bulks up with his Reflexive Rubber ability, which slows down his movement, it also gives Iron Man the perfect chance to fly around the back to pummel him with missiles from behind.

Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier’s Bionic Hook Can Turn Mister Fantastic Into A Sitting Duck

Mister Fantastic isn’t the only one who can pull enemies into battle, as Winter Soldier is capable of doing the exact same thing with his Bionic Hook. Rather than letting Mister Fantastic throw out pokes from the mid-range, Bucky can pull him into the action, forcing him to either deploy his Reflexive Barrier to try and survive, or simply accept his fate of being blasted to smithereens by the rest of the team.

Marvel Rivals Tier List (Best Marvel Rivals Characters, Ranked)

With 33 heroes at launch, Marvel Rivals has many characters to choose from to try and win games. Here are all the heroes ranked best to worst.

If Winter Soldier hits Mister Fantastic with his 3-hit combo, he can also obliterate his health bar in a matter of seconds, while also leaving him vulnerable for the others to finish off. The most important part is keeping an eye on Winter Soldier’s abilities though, since they can each take a while to cooldown, so it’s advised to only confront Mister Fantastic when at least two of them are ready to go.

Wolverine

Wolverine Can Tear Through Mister Fantastic’s Shields With His Ferocious Attacks And Abilities

Wolverine is a Duelist designed for taking on tanks, but considering how durable Mister Fantastic can be thanks to his shields, he also works wonders in taking down the leading member of the Fantastic Four with his attacks and ferocious abilities. Mister Fantastic’s Flexible Elongation ability will grant him shield hit points after lunging himself toward an enemy or ally, but Wolverine’s Vicious Rampage and Undying Animal can make quick work of this problem by shredding his shields in no more than a few seconds.

To deal the maximum amount of damage, Wolverine should build up as much rage as possible since this will boost the effectiveness of his claws considerably, making him a real force to be reckoned with, and a devastating counter to Mister Fantastic.

5

Loki

Loki’s Healing Can Protect His Allies From Fantastic, While Also Dishing Out Tons Of Damage Thanks To His Sneaky Abilities

When Lokig activates his Regenerative Domain ability, he will drop down a small AOE device which provides a ton of healing for anyone who remains inside its range. However, if Loki first sends out a few doppelgangers, then he can drop down three of these devices, which can essentially save a team from Mister Fantastic’s ultimate if used at the right time.

Additionally, Loki also possesses the Backstab ability, which allows his melee attack to deal far more damage when attacking an enemy from behind. This means that whenever Mister Fantastic activates his Reflective Rubber ability, Loki can turn invisible and sneak behind to obliterate his health bar, while also forcing him to turn around and ignore Loki’s allies in the process.

4

Iron Fist

The Speed And Agility Of Iron Fist Can Easily Throw Mister Fantastic Off His Game

While Mister Fantastic usually performs well in one-on-one encounters, Iron Fist’s speed can make him a little too much for Fantastic to handle. Since Mister Fantastic possesses a fairly sluggish basic attack speed, and often prefers to keep his foes at mid-range to dish out the most amount of damage, Iron Fists’s K’un-Lun Kick and Crane Leap allow him to close the gap in the blink of an eye so that he can melt Fantastic’s health bar with a barrage of ferocious punches.

Marvel Rivals Strategist Wish list

While Marvel Rivals may have over 30 heroes to choose from, the game’s Strategist role has a ton of potential to grow with many iconic Marvel heroes.

Considering that Iron Fist’s abilities have pretty lengthy cooldowns outside of his triple jump, it’s important to ensure that they’re all ready to go when approaching Mister Fantastic, otherwise, Iron Fist can be little more than be caught out quite easily. However, with all of his abilities on deck, Iron Fist can become Mister Fantastic’s worst nightmare.

3

Groot

Groot’s Walls Prevent Mister Fantastic From Getting His Hands On The Guardian’s Allies

Mister Fantastic’s basic attack already gives him a lot of attack range, but he can also get his hands on the enemy team from a distance with his Flexible Elongation and Distended Grip, both of which can deal considerable damage if they manage to land. Thankfully, Groot possesses two types of walls that can prevent Fantastic from pulling these moves off, keeping him at bay and disrupting his gameplan in the process.

What’s more is, Groot’s walls come with generous cooldowns, especially his smaller Ironwood Walls, meaning he can continue blocking Mister Fantastic off from the team throughout an entire match. At the same time, Groot can also use these walls to cut Fantastic off from his own team, ensuring he doesn’t receive any extra healing after he’s been gravely wounded.

2

Luna Snow

Luna Snow Can Instantly Negate Mister Fantastic’s Ultimate With Her Own

There’s arguably no hero in the game who can deal with enemy AOE attacks better than Luna Snow, and this definitely comes in handy when dealing with Mister Fantastic, and more specifically, his ultimate attack. When popping his ultimate, Mister Fantastic will bounce around multiple times, dealing splash damage to anyone who gets caught in the attack.

If used in the middle of an intense gunfight, this ultimate has the potential to wipe out an entire team, but Luna can prevent this from happening by using her own Ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, to heal her allies fast enough to negate the damage completely. Luna is also able to use her Absolute Freeze ability to shut Fantastic down if he starts getting a little too close to comfort, and thanks to Luna’s passive, she is also able to skate out of his attack range if she falls low on health.

1

Hawkeye

Skilled Hawkeye Players Will Be Able To Obliterate Mister Fantastic From Range

Hawkeye, the ‘sniper’ archetype of Marvel Rivals, excels at cutting his enemies down from a distance through the use of his trusty bow and arrow. While consistently landing shots from a distance can take a lot of practice, when used in the right hands, Hawkeye can utterly humiliate an enemy Mister Fantastic, especially if they manage to hit a few criticals to take him out of the fight as quickly as possible.

The only thing to look out for is Fantastic’s Reflexive Rubber, which allows him to absorb damage which he can then fire back at the enemy. So long as players hold their fire when he assumes this defensive stance, though, and ensure to charge up Hawkeye’s Archer Focus with every shot, they will be a reliable counter against Mister Fantastic.
