Summary
- A Lego Ideas submission for a Power Rangers set has surpassed 10,000 supporters.
- That means Lego will officially consider it and potentially make the set a reality.
- The set is based on the series’ original Megazord and includes Power Rangers Minifigures.
Lego releases hundreds of new sets every year, and ideas for some of those sets come from those who buy and build them. Lego runs an Ideas program where fans can submit projects they’d love to see become official sets that are mass-produced and sold, and if an idea receives enough support, Lego will officially consider it for exactly that. One of the most recent submissions to surpass that goal is a fanmade set based on the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers original Megazord, complete with Minifigures.
The Power Rangers set has been dreamt up by legotruman (thanks, The Brick Fan) and it hit the 10,000 supporters goal needed for a set to be officially considered by Lego last week. This isn’t the first time legotruman has tried to get a Megazord set over the line. Their last attempt didn’t reach the 10,000-supporter goal, but with some tweaks and improvements, this latest rendition of what an official Lego Megazord might look like has sailed passed the target with ease.

A concept for the set hit 10,000 supporters just in time for it to be considered during Lego’s upcoming review period.
Lego Ideas submissions are given a certain amount of time to reach various goals, with more time being added every time a set hits a supporter milestone. Between the extra time added as it sailed passed each of its checkpoints, the Power Rangers set had two years to accrue enough support to be officially considered by Lego. It managed to reach that goal in less than two months.
As for what the set will look like if Lego likes the idea and pushes ahead with it, the completed Megazord, complete with Power Sword, is 1,225 pieces and looks just like the one from the original series of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. The Megazord is only the half of it, though. Not only does the Lego Ideas set also include Minifigure versions of the original five Power Rangers, but it can be broken down into the five separate Zords that come together to create it.
This Lego Megazord Set Might One Day Become An Official Reality
It’s Up To Lego To Make That Happen Now
That’s Lego versions of the Tyrannosaurus, Mastodon, Saber-Tooth Tiger, Pterodactyl, and Triceratops, effectively making this five Lego sets in one. Lego could market it that way and sell the five sets individually as well as together as one complete Megazord set, not that I want to give them any ideas.
The Megazord set won’t be officially reviewed until May, joining any other Ideas sets that surpass the 10,000 supporters threshold between now and then. There has never been an official Power Rangers Lego set before. I assume that Hasbro owning the rights to Power Rangers toys is the biggest reason for that. Dungeons & Dragons, which is also owned by Hasbro, got its first Lego set last year though, so perhaps the chains have loosened and there’s a chance this Power Rangers Lego idea eventually becomes a reality.
