Fortnite Festival's Season Seven Music Pass Includes A Hatsune Miku Skin

Summary

  • Epic has confirmed Hatsune Miku is coming to Fortnite Festival and will be its season seven icon.
  • The virtual pop star will have skins, cosmetics, and a track to unlock via the coming season’s music pass.
  • Local multiplayer will also be added to Fortnite Festival when the new season begins on January 14, 2025.

Some of the best-known characters, both real and fictional, have been turned into skins and added to Fortnite. However, a character confirmed to be coming to the game this week might be one of the biggest to date, even if you’ve never heard of her before. Hatsune Miku is coming to Fortnite by way of Fortnite Festival, and her addition to the game will be a very big deal for a lot of people.

Hatsune Miku’s Fortnite debut has been rumored for a little more than a month, and a trailer coupled with a blog post confirming she will be here to usher in Fortnite Festival season seven has now confirmed her arrival. Dubbed one of the biggest virtual pop stars on the planet by Epic Games, Miku will be the Fortnite Festival Icon for season seven which will be the first that includes the rhythm game’s new look music pass.

In keeping with the passes available in other Fortnite modes, the free and premium rewards will be a part of the same track starting with season seven’s music pass. You will need to spend some V-Bucks for the premium pass if you want to unlock Miku’s skin and other related cosmetics, though, or subscribe to Fortnite Crew. As soon as you unlock the premium pass, you’ll get the Neko Hatsune Miku Outfit which also has a Lego equivalent for those who dabble with Odyssey.

If you make it to the end of season seven’s music pass before it’s too late, you’ll also unlock the Brite Hatsune Miku Outfit which gives the virtual singer a makeover inspired by Fortnite’s Brite Bomber and Battle Bus. There’s also a Miku jam track being added to the Festival library – M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE ♥ SHOT! – which will also need to be unlocked via music pass progression.

The other big addition coming to Fortnite Festival as part of season seven is local multiplayer. Starting on January 14, 2025, up to four people will be able to play Fortnite Festival on the same console. Potentially the closest we’ve been to OG Rock Band vibes for quite a while. Each player will need to be signed into their own Epic Games account in order to do that, though.

There’s still no indication of when or if we will be getting more modern-day recreations of Rock Band and Guitar Hero peripherals for Fortnite Festival use in the future. PDP has released the Fortnite Festival-compatible Riffmaster, and CRKD has an official Fortnite Festival NEO S controller. If someone could create drums and a mic to go along with those, we really would be back.
