Danmachi Season 5 Delayed Episodes Slated to February

By the end of December, It Wrong to Try to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon? Season 5, also known as Danmachi V, was delayed indefinitely after airing Episode 11, but now it is set to return in February. Back then, the production team stated that they have decided to postpone the episodes due to “internal challenges”. A few days later, they released a new visual for the season.

According to rumors, this DanMachi V is supposed to total 15 episodes, which means that four episodes are still to be aired, if these rumors are correct. It covers the Freya arc, which comprises volumes 16-18 of the original novel. It seems likely a sequel will be green lit when Season 5 ends.

Danmachi’s Problem with Committing to Love Interests

Danmachi’s struggle to commit to a love interest might be doing it more harm than good.

The “climax” of the anime is now scheduled to debut on February 8, 2025, but it isn’t clear if all episodes will air at once or if it will get a weekly schedule. This information hasn’t been posted on the official website yet, but it is included in the 15th volume of the spin-off novel Sword Oratoria, which came out in Japan on January 12.

An eventual Season 6 will probably cover the final events of the series, so the production team might decide to adapt the story to another format (like a movie).

The novel has been serialized since 2013, with volumes released from time to time, in contrast to other publication models — with chapters coming out in magazines before being compiled into a book volume. It spawned several other media, including the anime and the spin-off series Sword Oratoria.
