The Pokemon TCG has many powerful creatures to use. Some have powerful abilities while others can boost the effectiveness of other Pokemon in play. While not every Pokemon is built for battle, some exist as absolute tanks that can take multiple hits and even unleash abilities that can actually break the rules of the game.

Pokemon TCG: The 13 Most Valuable Cards In Scarlet & Violet 151
Return to the Kanto region and find the most valuable cards in Scarlet & Violet: 151.
The highest a Pokemon’s HP can go is 340. While there are a few Pokemon that can hit this number, some of them secretly go beyond that through a variety of different methods. So if you’re looking for a Pokemon that can hit hard and take it too, here are the Eleven Pokemon with the highest HP in the Pokemon TCG.
Updated January 12th, 2025, by Alexander Pinera: The Pokemon TCG keeps introducing massive cards that break the limits of the HP barrier. New titans appear in the Surging Sparks set to stand beside some of the beefiest Pokemon in the game. For some Pokemon, this means hitting that sweet 340 HP threshold, making them extra durable. For others, they have ten less but make up for it with powerful Abilities and Moves that just keep them on the field no matter how many times your opponent smacks into them. From Tera Pokemon that can deal massive damage to special cards only available to a select few, here are some cards that won’t go down easily.
15
Hydreigon Ex
A Three-Headed Terror
Hydreigon Ex may have ten HP less than the top, but it is still a force to be reckoned with. Released in the Surging Sparks set of the Pokemon TCG, this incarnation of Hydreigon comes with 330 HP and two devastating Moves.
Crashing Headbutt does 200 damage and mills the top three cards of your opponent’s deck. Meanwhile, Obsidian costs up to three different kinds of Energy, but the payoff is that you get to hammer two of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon for 130 damage each.
14
Hydrapple Ex
Lots Of HP And Even More On The Way
Hydrapple ex only has 330 HP, but it has an Ability that makes it last even longer. This is Ripening Charge, which lets you attach a Basic Grass Energy to one of your Pokemon. Then you can heal 30 damage. You can use this on any Pokemon on your Bench or use it on Hydrapple ex as a way of keeping it healthy.

2024’s best Pokemon cards are setting new highs.
Due to this Energy acceleration, Syrup Storm can become a powerful Move, dealing 30 damage plus 30 more for each Grass Energy attached to all of your Pokemon.
13
Slaking EX
Take A Massive Swing
Slaking ex released in the Surging Sparks set of the Pokemon TCG. This beefy Pokemon reaches the maximum HP threshold of 340. It also has a massive attack in the form of Great Swing. This Move only costs two Energy to perform and requires you to discard one Energy afterwards for 280 damage.
The only downside is that Slaking ex cannot attack if your opponent has no Pokemon ex or Pokemon V in play. Regardless, Slaking ex can tank through some of the strongest attacks in the TCG.
12
Garganacl Ex
A Defensive Strike
If you’re looking for a Pokemon that not only reaches the maximum HP count but also has protections to make it feel like it has even more, Garganacl ex is the perfect choice. This Pokemon’s Ability, Salty Body, protects it from Status Effects that can deal damage to it each turn.

Meanwhile, Block Hammer costs three Energy but can block up to 60 damage from your opponent’s next attack. This also deals 170 damage, making it the perfect offensive and defensive Move for a Pokemon with 340 HP.
11
Duraludon Vmax
Immune To Damage
There are so many Pokemon that just nearly hit 340 HP but peak at 330HP. However, some, like Duraludon Vmax, feel like they have even more. With Special Energy being so prominent, Duraludon has the ability to prevent damage from Pokemon that utilize it.
This offers excellent protection and can make Duraludon Vmax last longer than other Pokemon in the same HP category. With no weaknesses and an attack that can do 220 damage, Duraludon is an absolutely terrific Dragon-type.
10
Blastoise EX
Can Protect Itself From Damage
Another Pokemon with 330 HP is Blastoise EX. Its Solid Shell Ability allows it to take 30 less damage from any attack. This gives it that extra bit of longevity and staying power to take advantage of its ultimate attack.
Twin Cannons costs only two Water-type Energies to use and a discard of up to two from your hand. However, if you set yourself up to recur Energy Cards from the Discard Zone, then this attack can hit for 280 Damage. Not bad for Blue’s signature starter Pokemon.
9
Snorlax Vmax
Flexible Colorless Pokemon
Snorlax Vmax has a gorgeous full-art design and a full 340 HP. However, despite the card having nice aesthetics, it leaves much to be desired. Its only attack is G-Max Fall, which can be devastating. It can deal 60 damage with 30 additional damage for each Pokemon on the Bench for a maximum of 210.
Colorless Energy requirements also make Snorlax Vmax flexible in the type of decks it can be included in. However, with other Pokemon specific to their decks with the same HP and healing abilities, Snorlax can take a seat.
8
Copperajah VMAX
Knock Out More Basic Pokemon
Copperajah is a Steel-type Pokemon in the TCG. It meets the basic requirements for maxing out its HP count at 340. While not the most flexible, the fact that it hits the max is an accomplishment in itself.

Copperajah’s moves are devastating but carry a hefty energy cost. Dangerous Nose can do an extra 100 damage to Basic Pokemon on top of its normal 100 damage. This can help get rid of damage absorbers, while G-Max Hammer can deal a whopping 240.
7
Tyranitar EX
An Elemental Twist
Tyranitar EX may not be able to heal itself, but it does have a way of staying on the bench without getting hit thanks to it being Tera. Tyranitar EX is also an Electric-type Pokemon in this rendition with 340HP.
Mountain Hurl deals 120 damage for only one Fighting-type Energy. It also requires you to discard the top two cards of your deck. Lightning Rampage also lets it do 150 damage plus 100 more if your Benched Pokemon have any damage counters.
6
Palafin EX
Zero To Hero
Palafin EX has a fantastic ability that lets it come into play directly from the Deck. If you had a Palafin go from being an Active Pokemon to the Bench, you can search the deck and play Palafin EX in its place.

This nifty ability allows you to get a 340 HP body on the board with one devastating attack. For the low cost of one Water-type Energy, it can hit for 250 damage. This can be great for slowing down your opponent, with the only drawback being it can’t attack the next turn.
5
Eternatus Vmax
Breaks The Rules
Another Pokemon that hits the HP ceiling is Eternatus Vmax. While it may not have the same healing factor as other Pokemon, it can allow you to break the rules of the game. Rather than have five other Pokemon on the Bench, Eternatus lets you have eight as long as they are Dark-type.
This ability lets Eternatus power up its attack, Dread End. This nifty move does 30 damage times the number of Dark-type Pokemon in play. Fill up your bench, and you can do a whopping 270 damage with this move.
4
Torterra EX
Hit And Heal
Torterra EX is where things start getting interesting. 340 HP is only made even more effective when you have a move that can help it recover. Jungle Hammer deals 150 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon. It also heals 50 damage from itself.

This move lets it deal damage while staying on the board longer and can make getting rid of it a nightmare unless they have a good matchup. Forest March also does 30 damage for each Grass-type Pokemon in play.
3
Venusaur EX
Can Attack And Support
Having a move that can heal you is fantastic. However, having an ability that can do the same thing is even better. Venusaur EX’s Tranquil Flower Ability can heal 60 damage from any one of your Pokemon, including itself.
This offers a bit more flexibility whether it wants to be an attacker or stay on the Bench offering support. Dangerous Toxwhip is also a powerful attack that hits for 150 damage and leaves your opponent Confused and Poisoned. Not bad for the least-picked starter.
2
Skeledirge EX
One Hit Healing Wonder
While there are a few Pokemon that have hit the ceiling of 340 HP, Skeledirge has amazing abilities that pretty much spring it all the way to the top. Vitality Song does 50 damage to your opponent’s Pokemon while also healing 30 HP from itself.

1
Ishihara GX
A Card Rarer Than Base Charizard?
What if you were told that there exists a card so game-breaking, that it even breaks the 340 HP ceiling? Ishihara GX may look like a fake Pokemon card, but it is real and legal to play. Good luck finding a copy though.
Gifted to a select few at a private event celebrating Tsunekazu Ishihara’s 60th birthday, an estimated 200 copies exist with most of them graded, making them unfit for play. Ishihara GX is unaffected by attacks or card effects in general. Its GX attack allows you to flip 60 coins after dealing 1060 damage.
