According to Tite Kubo, the author of the Bleach manga, cour 4 of the Thousand-Year Blood War anime is set to feature brand new scenes that were never featured in the original source material. Considering that the manga’s story doesn’t last too much longer than even cour 3, fans should be expecting the final season to be filled with plenty of fresh and unique content to expand on the lore and characters.

Bleach: 9 Characters Whose Appearances Have Changed The Most
It’s hard to recognize these Bleach characters by the final arc of the story considering how much their appearances have changed.
The question that therefore lingers is what exactly Kubo and the team at Pierrot are cooking up to slot into the final few episodes of the anime. Fans have already been hard at work theorizing what plot threads can be wrapped up, or what characters might get a little more time in the spotlight. With that said, here are some popular ideas for new content that fans may be treated to in Bleach’s climax.

More Isshin And Ryuken Involvement
Isshin And Ryuken Deserve A Little More Time In The Spotlight For Their Grand Sendoff
Isshin and Ryuken, the fathers of Ichigo and Uryu respectively, appear as incredibly late additions to the final arc in the original manga. Despite being so late to the party though, they play a pretty big role in handing over the Still Silver arrow to Uryu, and though it seemed like Kubo had initially intended to give them a more memorable sendoff, this was right when the series was on the brink of its last chapter.
So far in the anime, Isshin and Ryuken have only been shown in flashes, though they were shown to be on the move at the very end of the last cour. This seems like a big hint that these two will at least be more involved with some of the action involving Ichigo and Yhwach, and if Isshin ends up unleashing his Bankai, that would be the cherry on top.

Extended Gerard Fight
The Gerard Battle Is The Perfect Opportunity To Get More Members Of The Gotei 13 Together
The Gerard vs Byakuya, Kenpachi, and Hitsugaya fight is in a pretty peculiar spot. It comes as one of the final hurdles for the Soul Reapers to overcome in their invasion of Warhwelt, but who exactly gets to participate in the anime version is unclear. So far, the Vizard have played a much bigger part in the anime than they ever did in the manga, but the likes of Rangiku or Rukia could also definitely be more involved as the fight continues.

Bleach: Aizen’s 8 Best Fights, Ranked
Aizen is one of Bleach’s most central characters, and these are some of the most iconic fights he has participated in.
This was always an epic fight in the manga which featured some absurd power-ups, along with an incredible Bankai reveal, but it did also feel a little rushed. If this fight were to expanded in cour 4, it could be built up as a final battle for the surviving members of the Gotei 13 captains and lieutenants collectively to be a part of, all getting a moment to combine their powers to take down the Quincy behemoth once and for all.

More Emphasis On Chad’s Battle
Chad Gets The Chance To Restore Some Of His Reputation If This Fight Is Expanded
Very late on in the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, Chad and Ganju are given a final task: to fight off an army of giant statues to clear the way for Ichigo’s return. Despite this fight being set up, it’s never actually shown in the manga, ridding Chad of a final confrontation where he could truly show how far he’s come since the early episodes of the series.
With an entire season to go, much of which is said to be full of new content, Chad might just be able to restore his reputation if he demonstrates a good showing in this battle. Chad has been given a few extra scenes in the anime already, including taking on the Shutzstaffel for a brief moment, but seeing a full-blown fight featuring Ichigo’s best friend would go a long way for Chad’s character.

New Ginjo And Tsukishima Scenes
The Deadly Duo Of The Fullbring Arc Would Benefit Greatly From Being More Involved
There are many characters who make a grand return in the Thousand-Year Blood War after having been absent for a large portion of the story. However, while Grimmjow, Nel, and even the Vizards get a fair amount of screentime, Ginjo and Tsukishima are thrown in very late on in the manga, though they do prove to be a big help when Ichigo faces off against Yhwach.
Considering this deadly pair were essentially the main villains of the Fullbring arc, they certainly deserve to have at least a few extra scenes centered around them. Seeing them interact with Ichigo could result in some nostalgic moments. At the same time, throwing them both into a battle, such as against Haschwaltt maybe, would also serve as a suitable sendoff by seeing them in action one final time.

Soul King Backstory
It Might Be Time To Shed Some Light On The Series’ Most Mysterious Character
The Soul King, despite being a god-like being who keeps the 3 worlds in balance, barely anything was revealed about him in the manga. In fact, it’s in the short novel, Can’t Fear Your Own World, where the Soul King gets the most small tidbits about his backstory, and how he came to assume this form in the first place.
However, the anime has been digging a little deeper already, such as with the name-drop of Adnyeus, which took a lot of diehard fans by surprise when it was uttered by Yhwach. Considering how highly requested this has been from fans, it seems likely that at least a little bit of screentime will be dedicated to exploring this guy’s past a little more.
2
Extended Aizen And Yhwach Battle
Giving Aizen And Yhwach The Time To Engage In A Full Battle Would Result In A Feast For The Eyes
In the manga, Aizen’s epic bout with Yhwach is incredibly short-lived, and nowhere near as grand or memorable as many fans had hoped it was going to be. Therefore, now that Aizen is already in play, and Yhwach has become god-like due to absorbing the Soul King, it seems like the perfect opportunity to give these two an extended fight, just like the anime did with Ichigo and Uryu.

When it comes to activation and effect, these Bankai get the job done quickly, without overstaying their welcome in Bleach.
It’s already been established that Aizen possesses an insane amount of Spiritual Pressure, even when buckled up to a chair, but when unleashed, his power level definitely wouldn’t be far off Yhwach. It would be a real feast for the eyes, and a treat for longtime fans who have always wanted to see this battle be given the time it needs to stand out.

Aizen’s Bankai
The Most Hotly Anticipated Bankai Might Be Just Around The Corner
Despite many fans accepting that Aizen’s Bankai would always remain a mystery, if there was any time to reveal it, it would definitely be now. The Thousand-Year Blood War anime has revealed multiple new Bankai techniques that were not featured in the original source material, including those from Shinji and Senjumaru.
Alongside Isshin, Aizen is therefore one of the only powerful Soul Reapers to still have not shown his Bankai. Some have theorized that Kyouka Suigetsu’s Bankai is simply too powerful for the user to control, while others have claimed that it may hold the power to control time and space, as an extension of its hypnotic properties. Whatever form it takes, seeing Aizen’s Bankai would undoubtedly become one of the most exciting moments in the entire series.
