In fact, Hunter x Hunter returned from a long hiatus in 2024. Togashi released a few chapters but had to take a break again because of his health.
Despite the prolonged breaks, Hunter x Hunter has sold more than 80 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time. The number would have been higher if the manga released chapters regularly.
Hunter x Hunter has two separate anime adaptations. The first one premiered in 1999, and it was produced by Nippon Animation. It ran for 62 episodes, and it garnered positive reviews. The second anime adaptation was produced by Madhouse, and it aired in 2011. The anime has a total of 148 episodes.
