In order to keep your horses in pristine condition, you’ll need to feed them, clean them, and exercise them regularly. We’ve explained the process in detail below:

Things To Feed To Your Horses

Horses require three types of foods to be 100 percent healthy in Farming Simulator 25. Each type of food has different effectiveness, which makes it a challenge. Here are the effectiveness of each type of fodder and what to feed.

  • Base food (Oats, Parsnips, or Sorghum): 57 percent effective.
  • Hay (Cannot be grass): 38 percent effective.
  • Root Crops (Carrots and Beet): 5 percent effective.

Try to focus on stocking up on base food and hay, as they have the most effectiveness.

Horses eat less, so you won’t lose much of your food stock.

Exercising And Cleaning Horses

The most challenging part about dealing with horses is to exercise and clean them regularly. Doing so will improve their value by helping them gain more fitness.

Firstly, you need to walk your horse daily. Go near your horse and interact with it to ride it. Once you’re on a horse, use them to traverse around. For instance, take the horse to a shop or do small tasks that don’t require a vehicle. Travel with the horse until the UI indicated 100 percent.

Once you’re done walking it, take it back to your pasture. If you leave your horse out of your pasture, you might lose it. So make sure to keep your horse in its rightful place.

While you are at it, go to a store and buy a Horse Brush. You can find it at the very bottom of the buy menu, under the Hand Tools category. Under the Hand Tools category, click on the Animal option, and you’ll be able to buy a Horse Brush now.

After returning to your pasture, equip the Horse Brush and hold down the left-click on your horse. This will raise the cleanliness bar of your horse. Once you’ve filled the progress bar, you can go back to other tasks or tending another horse.

Other Things To Know About Horses

Horses can breed once they have reached 22 months of age. After that period, the puberty bar will also turn into a reproduction bar. This bar usually takes 11 months to fill, so you’ll get a mule after this period of time.

The fitness of the horse increases over time if you keep them clean, well-fed, and exercised. Failing to maintain this hurts the selling price a lot. Fitness tends to go down if you end up lacking it on certain occasions.

Avoiding your horses for too long will make them lose their fitness completely.

Selling Your Horses And Things To Take Note Of

The selling price depends on its age and fitness. The price of the horse is different for all, however, they are usually five to six times their initial value. So if you purchased a horse from an Animal Dealer at $500, it often reaches $2,500 when it comes to selling.

Try to buy horses in bulk and ask a friend to help you out with it. This allows you to make a lot of money in a short amount of time. But with that, you’ll also have to work thrice as hard. But the exponential rise in revenue is worth it.

You can sell your horses directly from your pen, but you’ll be charged an excess transportation fee. It is better to use a carriage trailer to transport them to an Animal Dealer and then sell them.

Horses are very difficult to deal with, and it takes a lot of time to make them profitable.

If you’re starting your farm, you can try making money out of horses. But it would be laborious. Try to invest that effort into other businesses to make your journey easier.
