As games get bigger and bigger, they also feel more ominous

Whether that be managing a village in Animal Crossing or crops in Stardew Valley, there is no shortage of games that are cozy and simple. Some may even call these “guilty pleasures,” and taking to Reddit, gamers discussed the games that they’ve sunk oodles of time into with no regrets.

Nothing Better Than Mowing Lawns

Right off the rip, one gamer attested that Lawn Mowing Simulator is their personal guilty pleasure. “I get a massive sense of satisfaction and achievement from cutting someone’s overgrown lawn,” they wrote.

It turns out, they’re not alone in the simulator fandom, as others chimed in with their personal picks, including PowerWash Simulator.

Elsewhere, gamers admitted that idle clicker games like Cookie Clicker are their guilty pleasure. “Cookie clicker sucked me in, and I’ll never get that time back,” one user chimed in.

In an understandable twist, one gamer cited Ubisoft games as their personal pick, particularly for their giant open-worlds and checklist of activities. In particular, they named Watch Dogs Legion as a favorite.

“Playing Far Cry 6 right now and some days I just go around clearing checkpoints, partaking in ambushes, clearing out military bases and stuff,” one gamer wrote in response. “Not every day is a progress the story day and that’s totally fine for decompressing after work.”

Meanwhile, another player said the Saints Row reboot was their favorite. “Ew!–Respect,” one gamer wrote in response, with others attesting they too liked the game. As for this writer, few things are as cozy as clearing out checkpoints in any Ubisoft game. Seeing the map slowly lose icons is mighty satisfying.
