On the very day of the much-awaited Leagues update, there was a massive uproar in the FC Mobile community. This bug or glitch, albeit for a short while, rewarded players with an enormous amount of League Tokens for performing League Quests. Due to this, players could instantly exchange their League Tokens for Rewards in the Store. EA has addressed the issue accepting that the Leagues system bug allowed players to acquire a large number of League Tokens. The situation was purely unprecedented and unintentional and has since been investigated by the FC Mobile dev team.

EA has announced fixes and compensation in lieu of the FC Mobile Leagues bug
With the players immediately gaining an enormous amount of League Tokens, EA initially rolled out a first-aid fix by taking down the League Token Exchange in Store to prevent users from using their Tokens and making League creation inaccessible to prevent the chaos from going further out of hand. More than 24 hours after the bug’s impact, the FC Mobile dev team finally addressed the way forward via an in-game message, clarifying the following while they continued working on the fix:
Leagues
- League Creation will be re-enabled after the issue is fixed.
- League Token Exchange will be making a comeback in the in-game Store post the devs have adjusted the abnormal amounts.
As expected once the bug has been addressed and fixed, players can once again create and join new leagues and exchange their earned League Tokens in the in-game Store.
League Token Balances and Rewards
EA will be investigating and deducing any of the undue benefits gained by the loophole caused due to the unwarranted Leagues bug to maintain fairness within the game. Hence EA will be re-evaluating the League Tokens amount adjusting to a particular threshold amount to prohibit players from further using them once the League Token Exchange is back in the Store.
Additionally, any Prime Icons claimed from the League Token Exchange using the League Tokens will be converted back to their Base versions. Yes so if you have taken advantage of the bug and claimed either of the untradeable Prime Icons ie 105 OVR ST Samuel Eto’o or 103 OVR CAM Kaká for your team, they will now be changed to their Base Icon versions.
Make Good
The devs at EA do acknowledge that the bug has created a rift in the community with several people who weren’t aware of the glitch or willingly didn’t take advantage of the same. Hence EA will be releasing a Make Good compensation to satisfy the players whose in-game experience has been severely impacted by the bug. They will release more details on the compensation in the coming days.
Community Reactions and its Aftermath on the issue
Over the last few days, the FC Mobile community has been hot and fuming. The community is divided into two sets, with some who were logged in, aware of the bug, and claimed a significant number of League Tokens and utilized it to get tradeable players and Prime Icons. The other half of the community, who weren’t aware were “deprived” of this unprecedented reward. occurrence.
It was evident no matter what compensation EA announced, it wouldn’t satisfy the demands of all. Although nerfing down the Prime Icons to Base is a welcoming move for the wider audience, it’s still unfair considering the mistake was on EA’s part.
Additionally, had you claimed a high OVR tradeable player from the League Token exchanges and sold it off for a profit, you would be keeping your Coins thereby bypassing EA’s proposed fix as you have utilized your Tokens without claiming the untradeable Prime Icons.
It is still yet to be seen what EA decides as fair compensation as the community is already fuming and a couple of Universal Rank Player – Mascheranos isn’t going make that “good“. While it was certainly fair to nerf the Prime Icons, the devs must provide a fairer incentive due to the chaos and a temporary disbalance caused by the glitch.
