What Is Deadly Sinner Mode In Freedom Wars Remastered

Freedom Wars Remastered doesn’t have traditional difficulty modes you can choose from when first starting up the game. That being said, there is the Deadly Sinner Mode which can be activated to make the game more difficult overall.

Players can switch between Deadly Sinner Mode while playing the game regularly if they want, though there’s a bit more to it than just changing a setting in a menu. Here’s what Deadly Sinner Mode is and what all it changes if you want to try it out.

What Does Deadly Sinner Mode Change In Freedom Wars Remastered

Deadly Sinner Mode is the closest thing to a hard mode this game has, but it doesn’t change the actual combat of the game and only slightly makes your operations more difficult. Mostly it focuses on making your life in the Panopticon more difficult, along with making it even more difficult to lower your sentence. Deadly Sinner Mode changes the following things:

  • Infractions add more years to your prison sentence.
  • Donating resources takes fewer years off your sentence, but gives the same amount of Entitlement Points as usual.
  • Less time to complete Operations.
  • Unique Entitlements.

Overall this mode mostly affects your prison sentence, which you’re always trying to lower as part of the overall story. That being said, you don’t actually need to get your sentence down to 0 to complete the game, and there are only a few roadblocks in the game that require a specific sentence, and they are often not that difficult to achieve when completing all the required operations. The unique entitlements are mostly just cosmetics, though the less time to complete operations does add a bit of a challenge.

There are three Thorns to choose from in Freedom Wars Remastered; here’s how to unlock and equip new ones.

Switching To Deadly Sinner Mode In Freedom Wars Remastered

You can switch Deadly Sinner Mode on or off anytime at the Window Of Liberty. While you can switch back and forth, there are some Entitlements you have to re-purchase when you turn Deadly Sinner Mode on, and that also requires you to purchase them again if you choose to switch Deadly Sinner Mode off. The following entitlements are permanently deleted and will have to be re-purchased every time you switch between the two modes:

  • Right To Run
  • Right To Rest
  • Right To Remain Silent
  • Right To Unsupervised Activity
  • Right To Retain Items

These entitlements can be expensive, so it’s best to pick a difficulty mode early into the game and try to stick to it instead of switching back and forth often.
