Bentley Jones, a music artist who has worked on the Sonic series for some time, seems to be teasing an announcement that relates to Silver the Hedgehog.
Thanks to Sonic x Shadow Generations and the third Sonic movie, 2024 was one of the biggest and best years for the Blur Blur in recent memory. Sega seemed to realise that pretty early on, as it dubbed 2024 “Fearless: The Year of Shadow” and themed a lot of the announcements around the edgy Hedgehog.

Now that 2024 is over, where does Sonic go next and are there any more characters on the roster that deserve the spotlight as much as Shadow did? While I’m sure everyone’s rushing to say Knuckles, Tails, or Amy, I’d argue that Sonic 06’s underappreciated time-travelling hedgehog, Silver, is due for a comeback. If we’re lucky, that might be what’s about to happen.
Sonic Music Artist Is Seemingly Teasing A Silver Announcement
As pointed out by Twitter user FrackDeals, Bentley Jones, a music artist who has worked on the Sonic series since Shadow the Hedgehog, took to Twitter to tease fans about an upcoming announcement. Jones said that fans should “save the date” of March 29, implying some sort of news was coming on that day.
To make matters even more interesting, Jones clearly hinted that the news had something to do with Silver the Hedgehog, as he used the hashtag “absolution” that is in reference to Silver’s theme, Dreams of an Absolution, which he wrote and performed for Sonic 06 and has remixed several times since then.
Considering Jones’ work on the series so far, the announcement is most likely to do with another remix of Dreams of an Absolution, but fans quickly took to the comments to hope that it’s a tease that 2025 is the Year of Silver. As someone who loves the character and wishes he was used more, that’d be the best outcome, but it’s a good idea to temper expectations.
Of course, if we’re throwing logic to the wind and going off pure hopium, it’s possible that Jones is teasing something bigger for the character. At the most, it could be a new project related to Silver, but it’d be good news if he was just confirmed as a character for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. We’ll have to wait and see, although it does seem more likely it’s a new track, which should still be a banger.
