Marineford marked the end of the first part of One Piece. Oda sets up a huge war, similar to Marinford, in the Final Saga.
Of course, one ability that fans know is going to be pivotal in the Final Saga is Haki. Perhaps, Haki might just be the most important power in this part of the story, and fans might actually get to see its new types as the story moves forward.
Haki As Fans Know And Understand It
- A Power That Is Found Within Everyone
- Three Types Of Haki Exist
Haki was introduced to the fans quite early into the series but was only explained properly by Rayleigh, around the beginning of the time skip. Essentially, Rayleigh confirmed that Haki is the spiritual energy that exists within everyone and the One Piece world. Broadly speaking, Haki can be divided into two types, those being the Color of Arms Haki, also known as Armament Haki, and the Color of Observation, also known as observation Haki. With the former, a person can essentially use their spirit as armor, for both offensive and defensive purposes. On top of that, this Haki is essential in the New World because it allows the user to bypass all defenses offered by a Devil Fruit ability, such as those of the Logia types. This makes it an invaluable asset to anyone fighting in the New World.
In these two years, you’ll learn the basics of Haki. – Rayleigh
On the other hand, the Color of Observation is essentially a sixth sense type of ability that allows the user to project things in their mind’s eye before they happen, measure power levels, read emotions, and sense just about everything in their surroundings. This power is also an invaluable asset to just about anyone.
There is also a third type of Haki in the One Piece world, called the Color of the Supreme King, also known as Supreme King Haki. This type of Haki is incredibly powerful, but it cannot be found within everyone, unlike the other two. This type of Haki is present only in one in a million people, and even among those who have it, only a handful go on to awaken it. Conqueror’s Haki essentially allows the user to channel their own willpower and use it to intimidate others in battles or knock them out. This type of Haki cannot be trained directly, and it only grows as the user grows stronger. These are the major types of Haki that fans know in One Piece, but there are also some other types that are essentially applications of the main three types of Haki.
For instance, when it comes to the Color of Observation, fans know that there exists the power to look into the future. This type of Haki can be attained by someone when they train their Observation Haki to a ridiculous level. Those who train it rigorously go on to awaken the power to look into the future, and depending on how much they train it, this can range from looking into a few seconds of the future, all the way to seeing extended futures, just as Shanks does it.
You can coat yourself in the Color of the Supreme King, can’t you? – Luffy
The advanced form of the Color of Arms Haki allows the user to deal deadly damage from a distance. It essentially refines the attacking power of the person, and when taken to the next level, allows them to deal damage from the inside out, by allowing their Haki to seep into their enemy’s body, negating all external defenses.
Then, there exists the strongest type of Haki that fans have seen in One Piece, and this type of Haki is the Advanced Conqueror’s Haki, also known as Supreme King Infusion. This type of Haki essentially allows the user to coat their entire body in Supreme King Haki and use it both offensively and defensively. It is incredibly powerful, and quite easily the greatest weapon any Haki user can have.
The Rare Haki Types That Remain Unexplained
Shanks Can Utilize Some Rare Haki Types
While these are the main types of Haki that fans know in One Piece, there are also others that remain unexplained and will most definitely show up later down the line in the Final Saga. These Haki types stem primarily from the character of red-haired Shanks, who is a master of Haki unlike any other seen in the story so far. For one, Shanks has the ability to channel his Haki remotely from miles away. He did this during the Wano Country Arc, right at the very end. Using his Haki, he was able to attack Greenbull from miles away and paralyze him completely. But, this was not the most shocking part. The crazy part of this all was that Shanks was actually able to communicate with Greenbull using his Conqueror’s Haki. It was almost as if Shanks was using a microphone to talk to Greenbull and communicate with him properly, and he managed all this through his Conqueror’s Haki.
This remote Conqueror’s Haki is a type of the ability that fans have not seen being utilized in One Piece by any other character so far and it is certainly going to be massive moving forward.

2025 is the year of Shanks. Here’s his future role in One Piece.
Another type of Haki that fans have not seen yet is Observation Killing. This type of Haki is, once again, wielded only by Shanks. It is a very powerful ability that allows Shanks to kill the Observation Haki of his enemies completely, preventing them from seeing the future altogether. This is accomplished through some usage of Conqueror’s Haki, but how exactly he does this remains to be seen. This is also a very exciting type of Haki that fans have not seen so far at all.
Why New Haki Subtypes Will Keep Showing Up
There Is More To Haki Than What Fans Know
As is clear from Shanks’s utilization of Haki, fans will continue seeing new forms of it being introduced in the Final Saga. The Conqueror’s Haki the Shanks employs is on a completely different level, and similarly, there are certainly going to be other rare unique subtypes of Haki that will be utilized in this part of the story, especially when it comes to characters who fight solely using Haki as their main weapon. On top of that, fans also got a glimpse of Joyboy’s Haki recently, and this power was so tremendous that it managed to split the skies all by itself, and on top of that, damage the Elders to the point where they were forced out of their transformations and sent back to Marijoa. That is yet to be explained, and Oda will only go on to dive deep into the secrets when the Haki master, Shanks, is under the spotlight.
