The Marvel Rivals roster could be getting some huge additions, according to a group of dataminers. As shared by the Twitter account X0XLEAK, there’s said to be evidence of Professor X and Colossus in the game’s files, as well as some other surprising heroes.
If this datamine turns out to be accurate, then we’re getting the following characters: Professor X, Colossus, Jia Jing, Paste Pot Pete, and Locus. No, I didn’t know who most of these were either, although it does seem that fans are happy with this.
Marvel Rivals Datamine Apparently Contains Evidence That Five New Characters Are In The Works
Professor X is said to be a Strategist, while Colossus is a Tank.
Three of the characters who were seemingly datamined are Strategists, which beefs up the role that, as I’m sure many of you are aware, players tend to avoid like the plague. However, the recent addition of Invisible Woman has led to people actually playing Strategist – to the point of everyone trying to instantly pick her at once. So, new characters will certainly encourage others to play the role.
If this datamine is accurate, then it continues Marvel Rivals’ trend of getting some lesser-known characters into the roster. This has been wildly successful, with heroes like Luna Snow and Jeff the Land Shark amassing loads of fans – and enemies, in the latter’s case.
Season 1 of Marvel Rivals has just kicked off, giving us Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic. We’ll have to wait and see which character makes the cut next.
