Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is written by Coolkyousinnjya. It began serialization in Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine in May 2013. It continued serializing in the Monthly Action magazine until 2024, after which it was transferred to Manga Action.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is among the few manga titles that have been the recipient of multiple spin-offs. The first spin-off titled Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Kanna’s Daily Life was released in December 2016. The next spin-off, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Elma’s Office Lady Diary, began serialization in 2017.
The third spin-off, written by Utamaro, was released in January 2019. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Fafnir the Recluse, the fourth spin-off, debuted in the Monthly Action in November 2020. Finally, the fifth spin-off, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: Iruru Has No Clue About Love!, was released in 2024.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Anime Has Been A Hit

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid’s anime adaptation was announced in 2016. The first season of the anime aired in January 2017. It was directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto at Kyoto Animation. Yuka Yamada was in charge of the series composition, and Miku Kadowaki designed the characters. Masumi Itō composed the music for the first season.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid announced the second season with the release of the manga’s 8th volume. The unfortunate arson attack on the Kyoto Animation studio affected the production. So, fans had to wait for a long time to learn the status of the anime. The second season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid saw only one major change to the staff. Tatsuya Ishihara replaced Yasuhiro Takemoto as the director for the anime. The second season premiered in July 2021 and continued till September 2021.
