Bethesda’s poor reputation led to Starfield being over-hated by many as a mediocre RPG, which is nowhere near the case. Some of its systems may not be fleshed-out and moving from one planet to the other is anything but ingenious, but players willing to give this game’s faults a pass will enjoy a relatively decent role-playing game that isn’t too complex.

Once players get past an agonizingly slow opening, the world opens up and allows players to explore the deepest reaches of space. If players choose to ignore the procedurally-generated content and focus mostly on the main story, they can have a great time with the fun RPG trappings of Starfield as long as they turn their brains off and don’t overthink the story’s details.
