Path of Exile 2’s trade chat is always flowing with requests for White Stellar Amulets, going for 10 or 15 Exalted Orb
apiece, and to many players, it may not be clear why so many people value this item in particular so much more than others.
After all, anyone willing to pay cold, hard currency for something either wants it for their build or has a way of converting it into something more valuable, and potential sellers will want to know what they’re giving up. Here’s the breakdown.

What Makes White Stellar Amulets Valuable in Path of Exile 2?
Stellar Amulets of the normal rarity, i.e., those that have no modifiers besides the implicit “+# to All Attributes,” can be converted into the Astramentis
Stellar Amulet, among the most valuable Unique Amulets in the entire game, by using an Orb of Chance
on them.
Astramentis is an incredibly strong item because of its ability to stack an insane amount of attributes (+80-120 to All Attributes). This can be used in conjunction with the Hand of Wisdom and Action
Furtive Wraps, another extremely valuable Unique item, which boosts a character’s attack speed and lightning damage depending on how much Intelligence and Dexterity they have.
Only ‘White’ Stellar Amulets can be used to get Astramentis. Blue (Magic) or Yellow (Rare) Stellar Amulets cannot be used for this purpose. This is why Normal Stellar Amulets are worth a lot more than their more upgraded variants.
Should You Sell White Stellar Amulets or Use the Orb of Chance
The percentage chance of obtaining an Astramentis is astronomically low, which makes singular attempts at trying to obtain one through the Orb of Chance method inadvisable. Even trying to gamble with 100 Stellar Amulets might not net you an Astramentis, let alone one or two. Of course, there is always a chance of getting supremely lucky, but it’s unlikely at best.
The decision of whether or not you should sell your White Stellar Amulets is up to you. Selling one will net you anywhere between 10-30 Exalted Orbs, depending on the market rate at the time, or you can attempt to reach for the moon yourself and let fate decide your fortune. It’s a very high-risk, high-reward gamble, one that every player has to decide on their own.

How to Use Orb of Chance To Get Astramentis in PoE 2
Put the Normal Stellar Amulet in your inventory, right-click on the Orb of Chance, and left-click on the Stellar Amulet to take the gamble. The following are all possible outcomes of using the Orb of Chance on a Stellar Amulet.
- Item is destroyed.
-
Item is upgraded to a unique that shares the same base. In the case of Stellar Amulet, there are two possible uniques it can turn into:
- Astramentis
- Fixation of Yix
As the more common unique, Fixation of Yix is the more likely outcome if you don’t fail, a much less desirable result than obtaining Astramentis.
If the gamble fails, the Stellar Amulet can—and likely will be—destroyed.
