Unlock your Ascendancy class with this short guide.

Ascending your character involves completing the Trials of the Sekhemas, during which you may find a currency called Sacred Water. Below, we’ll take a look at everything you need to know about Sacred Water, including where to get it and what it’s used for.

Where To Get Sacred Water

Sacred Water is a currency exclusive to the Trial of the Sekhemas in Act 2, where you Ascend your character. While running through the Trial, normal enemies have a chance to drop small amounts of Sacred Water, which appear as glowing blue orbs on the ground. They are automatically picked up when you move near them.

The main way to get Sacred Water is to use Sacred Water Fountains, which are special rooms that you can choose while plotting your Trial route. Sacred Water Fountains give a much larger bundle of Sacred Water, in the one to two hundred range. There are also Grand Sacred Water Fountains that reward even more.

How To Use Sacred Water

Sacred Water can only be used during the Trial of the Sekhemas; once you leave the Trial, all of your current Sacred Water will be lost. Luckily, there are multiple things to spend it on that provide lasting effects.

The main way to use Sacred Water is to spend it at the Merchant who sometimes appears during the Trial. From the Merchant, you can buy Boons that will help you in further rooms, Relics that you can carry over to new runs, or you can choose to simply restore your Honour.

Sacred Water can also be used in Shrine rooms to restore a small amount of Honour.

At the end of the Trial, you can once again spend Sacred Water at the Merchant, or use the Keth Forge to convert all excess Sacred Water into Keys, which can then be used to open the treasure chests in the same room. Since Sacred Water is lost upon leaving the Trial, this is really the only use for it once you’ve completed the Trial.
