Born in 1963, Junji Ito began drawing manga from the young age of four-years-old, and by the age of just 24 he had his first major hit. In 1987, Junji Ito submitted a short horror story to the Monthly Halloween magazine. That short story ended up giving birth to the wildly successful Tomie series, which ended up running for well over a decade. Junji Ito has worked on countless horror manga over the last few decades, delivering a vast number of truly terrifying monsters, some of which are coming to Dead by Daylight.

From a fashion model who moonlights as a cannibal serial killer, to a manipulative succubus, to an occult-loving young school boy, Dead by Daylight‘s most recent collaboration brings some of Junji Ito’s most iconic horror creations to life.

Every Dead by Daylight Junji Ito Killer Skin Explained

The Artist – Miss Fuchi from Fashion Model

Miss Fuchi made her debut appearance in Junji Ito’s Rumors, the fourth chapter of Souichi’s Diary of Curses, which was originally published in 1997. Miss Fuchi is an incredibly gaunt fashion model who is said to eat children and any business rivals. Her appearance in Dead by Daylight is specifically modeled after her look in Fashion Model, the following chapter of Souichi’s Diary of Curses.

The Spirit – Tomie from Painter

Probably Junji Ito’s most famous creation, Tomie Kawakami presents herself as a beautiful young woman. But in reality, Tomie is closer to a living infection, being able to clone herself and even turn humans into more copies of herself by placing her organs or blood in them. Tomie has starred in three of Junji Ito’s horror manga series, but her crossover skin in Dead by Daylight is based on her appearance in Painter, the third chapter of Tomie Part 2.

The Twins – Hikizuri’s Dark Past from The Strange Hikizuri Siblings

Dead by Daylight‘s Twins Killer duo gets a skin referencing Junji Ito’s The Strange Hikizuri Siblings, which is also known as The Bizarre Hizikuri Siblings. This story comes from the fifth chapter of the Horror World of Junji Ito collection, Volume 13, which reintroduces the titular family who were initially introduced in the prior chapter. Following the recent passing of their parents, the six siblings agree to perform a seance, which results in one of them being possessed by the spirit of their dead father.

Junji Ito makes a cameo appearance as Engineer Prepper in Death Stranding.

The Trickster – Soichi’s Party Clothes from Soichi’s Convenient Curse

Soichi (spelled more commonly as Souichi) is another one of Junji Ito’s most long-running characters, being the eponymous character of the aforementioned Souichi’s Diary of Curses. Souichi is a 5th grader with an iron deficiency, which he remedies by keeping a collection of metal nails in his mouth at all times, which he often uses to torment his classmates and other targets. Dead by Daylight‘s Trickster gets a skin based on Souichi, based primarily on his design in chapter one of Souichi’s Diary of Curses.

The Dredge – Half Spirits’ Torment from The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel

The final Dead by Daylight Killer to get a Junji Ito-inspired outfit is The Dredge, whose skin is based on The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel, Chapter 2, Volume 14 of the Horror World of Junji Ito. This short story sees an entire town being slowly hypnotized into walking into the titular tunnel, where they’re sucked into the walls and greeted by the ghosts of the tunnel’s previous victims.
