Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hosting Year of the Snake Mass Outbreak Event

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hosting Year of the Snake Mass Outbreak Event

Summary

  • Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are hosting a Mass Outbreak with increased Shiny encounter odds until January 1.
  • Trainers can expect Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper to appear in greater numbers during the event.
  • The future of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2025 remains uncertain with the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have a new event to participate in, as a Mass Outbreak featuring Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper has started in observance of the Year of the Snake. The Snakelike Mass Outbreak event will last in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for just one weekend, but trainers will have increased odds of encountering Shiny versions of each featured Pokemon.

The latest Mass Outbreak event began just days after Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hosted a Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event to close out 2024. Although the Sky High Pokemon can usually be found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and making progress in The Indigo Disk, the Shiny variant’s rarity made the Tera raid battle a worthwhile opportunity to easily catch it. Despite Rayquaza’s weakness towards Fairy Pokemon rendering the Tera raid an easy encounter, the Shiny Rayquaza event was a fitting bookend to the Year of the Dragon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
