Ichi the Witch is a new manga series by Osamu Nishi. It has only been a few months since the manga began serialization, but that. Recently, Horikoshi Kohei, the author of My Hero Academia, endorsed Ichi the Witch. Word of mouth from such a famed mangaka was always going to be beneficial, and it has finally started to show.
In a new report, it has been confirmed that Ichi the Witch’s first volume sold out in most stores. Therefore, Shueisha has ordered an immediate reprint of the manga’s first volume.

Ichi the Witch Has Been Recommended By Two Of The Most Popular Mangaka
Aside from Horikoshi Kohei, Ichi the Witch has also been endorsed by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man. He recommended Ichi the Witch to fans, and as expected, it has been proven helpful to the Osamu Nishi. Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man is among the most loved manga series.
If one mangaka’s endorsement wasn’t enough, Horikoshi Kohei also showed support for Ichi the Witch. As the author of one of the best-selling manga series of all time, it is safe to say that Horikoshi Kohei knows a thing or two about writing a manga. His own manga ended in 2024, after nearly a decade-long run. With the manga over, Horikoshi Kohei has confirmed that he’s already working on a new project. However, he has not revealed any new information as to what it might be.
Shueisha Has A Possible Gem In Ichi the Witch
Ichi the Witch began serialising in September 2024. As previously stated, the manga is written by Osamu Nishi and illustrated by Shiro Usazaki. The latter used to work on Act-Age, but it was canceled due to the author being arrested. So, this is her first major project. Since it is a new manga, Ichi the Witch has only released one volume.
Ichi the Witch is set in a world where monsters called Majiks. These creatures are made of magic, making them appealing to a specific to a specialized group of hunters, called Witches. The Witches are able to extract magic from Majiks after performing a trial.
Mostly, females become Witches, but this changes when a boy named Ichi. He lives in Druid Mountain and hunts for a living. Ichi does the unthinkable by killing a Majik, and ends up becoming the first male Witch.
