Marvel Rivals has delivered a phenomenal hero-shooter experience. One that is rich in both diverse gameplay among its numerous characters and its stunning visuals. As the game continues down its lifecycle, new characters will continue to be added. Season 1 of the game introduces iconic heroes from the Fantastic Four franchise, with one being Mister Fantastic.
Among Marvel Rivals’ many characters, Mister Fantastic is a dualist character. This means he will need to be able to get around pretty fast and contribute to the team’s damage output. His best method of this is to grab and pull himself into either his allies or his enemies. Each time a new duelist is released, it is anyone’s guess how it might shake up the meta and if they will be one of the best duelists among the game’s many maps.

Mister Fantastic’s Primary Attack in Marvel Rivals
Great duelists in Marvel Rivals need a good primary attack. Mister Fantastic’s primary attack is Stretch Punch. While he may not have any secondary attack type, this is still actually surprisingly versatile. This attack is a combo of 3 strikes. The first 2 strikes will use a single fist, while the final strike will use both hands.
What makes this attack so versatile is that a player can throw a punch early, and the stretched arm will still deal damage when dragged through its target. Better yet, it will deal damage to all enemies it touches. This means it is possible to deal numerous area-of-effect attacks using just his primary attack. Another hero who’s primary attack often hits multiple enemies is Storm’s piercing Wind Blade attack.
Mister Fantastic’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
Mister Fantastic has numerous abilities he can activate during matches, and players should head to the training room to test them all out. Each of them will build up towards a passive that gives him increased damage output. When fully charged up, this passive becomes something to truly fear. Besides these abilities, there are some important values players will need to be aware of, such as how much health he has.
Mister Fantastic has a base health of 350, but he makes use of plenty of shields to give him more survivability than you would expect from a duelist. Another value players will want to keep track of is his Elasticity. This is a value that will be visible just under the player’s crosshair. Mister Fantastic’s base attacks will each generate 5 Elasticity, but players will want this value to hit 100 as soon as possible.
Reflexive Rubber
- Active Ability
- 12 seconds
When used, Mister Fantastic will stretch to change the form of his body into a rectangular shape. He still possesses the ability to move around and will absorb all incoming damage. When this ability ends, he will launch the stored damage as an attack where the player’s reticle is aimed.
Flexible Elongation
- Active Ability
- 3 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
When activated, Mister Fantastic will gain a shield that pulls his 350 health up to 425. He will pull himself towards his target and deal damage to them if they are an enemy, or grant them a shield if they are an ally. This allows players to decide if they wish to contribute damage to a weakened enemy — or to come to the rescue of an ally. This ability has 2 charges if the player needs to use it again before the end of its cooldown or if they are on the verge of filling up their passive.
Distended Grip
- Active Ability
- 6 seconds
- 30 Elasticity Generated
Another incredibly versatile ability comes in the form of Distended Grip. When used, Mister Fantastic will stretch and grab a target. There are now 3 possible options the player can make use of. Players will see 2 options and their button prompts. The first is Dash. Using this will pull the Mister Fantastic towards his target, but without giving him any kind of shield. The second option is Impact. Despite using his fists and not featuring any projectiles. Mister Fantastic should not be grouped playing a character like Wolverine. There are many melee focused characters, but Mister Fantastic has plenty of range thanks to his stretchy limbs.
Using this option on the enemy Mister Fantastic already has grappled will cause him to pull the enemy towards himself, dealing additional damage to the grappled enemy. The best opportunity is when there is another enemy within sight, as using this ability on them will allow Mister Fantastic to also grapple this second target. He will then slam these two grappled enemies into one another, dealing damage to both of them.
Wedded Harmony
- Team-Up Ability
- 20 seconds
This ability will only be displayed while Invisible Woman is part of the player’s team. Activating it will create a status that will heal Mister Fantastic for any health he has lost. This will not grant any shields, so his base health will remain at 350 while it is active. This can help Mister Fantastic recover any lost health between shield uses and further raise his survivability. The Invisible Woman is one of Marvel Rivals many Strategists, making her a great fit on any team, but even better with Fantastic Four members.
Elastic Strength
With each use of an ability, Mister Fantastic will build up Elasticity. This will increase the amount of damage he does. However, once it fills up to its maximum, Mister Fantastic will pull a Hulk-style transformation, gaining even more damage to his attacks and giving him a sizable amount of shield.
This shield will start to decay before he deflates to his original form, but the diminishing shield will still be present after it ends. Mister Fantastic will not have access to any of his other abilities while he is in his inflated state, but this encourages players to make the most of its damage output potential. Not dealing damage will cause Elasticity to start decaying.
Brainiac Bounce
Mister Fantastic leaps up into the air and comes crashing down, dealing damage within the marked area. He will then bounce to repeat this process multiple times. This can be devastating for enemies that have grouped together to defend a specific point. There are some hard ultimates to get the hang of in Marvel Rivals, but this one is pretty straight forward.

Players looking to counter The Punisher in Marvel Rivals may want to prioritize the following characters.
Tips for Playing Mister Fantastic in Marvel Rivals
Mister Fantastic may be a duelist, but he can be incredibly tanky thanks to his damage mitigation and easy access to shields. Not to mention his passive granting him a massive amount of shield from using these abilities.
Flexible Reflection
A great combo is to follow up Flexible Elongation with Reflexive Rubber. Using these two abilities in succession to aid an ally will result in both shields for both the player and their ally, but it also lets the player tank the enemy threat immediately after. This allows the player’s ally some protection before Mister Fantastic releases all the stored damage. This can easily overwhelm an inexperienced enemy.
Rushing Reflexive Rubber
While using the Reflective Rubber ability is a key element to triggering Elastic Strength, players can use Reflexive Rubber when they don’t need to speed up building their passive. This can result in more use of his inflated state, giving him both presence on the objective and damage output for the team.
His shield will stack with other sources, so inflating after gaining a shield boost from two instances of Flexible Elongation can see his health pool hitting a total of 950. This easily makes him a candidate among characters with the most health in the game.
