Now, in Split 2 of Season 23: Into The Rift, we are finally getting our hands on these, as well as a few other ones in a uniquely structured event.

Here’s the Tier list for Season 23, Split 2 in Apex Legends!
Packs and progression are quite different from usual events, and you can stand to gain quite a lot as a free-to-play player, too – so let’s cover all the ways you can stand to gain some free skins and everything the event has to offer.
The Astral Anomaly Milestone Event
The Event consists of only 15 rewards this time, six of which are legendary. This means that if you’re looking for a specific item, you’re more likely to get it as there aren’t as many rewards as usual.
To get the rewards, you need to open Astral Anomaly packs; each pack will contain two regular pack drops and one of the following Event drops:

Astral Anomaly Free Reward Shop
There is also a free Reward Shop, which refreshes weekly. Bytes from special challenges can be used to acquire rewards.
These can be viewed in the Challenges menu, under the Astral Anomaly Milestone Event category, and range from being very simple to complete, to pretty difficult. Rewards are highest in the simplest challenges, and the harder the challenge is, the lower the rewards are; so if you’re looking to just get the Event pack, the easy challenges are the way to go. Challenges refresh every day, and are always the same five shown in the image above.
The rewards for the first week go as follows:

Astral Anomaly Event Skins In Store
There are four Legendary skins which are in the Store for purchase as well, each costing 1,800 Apex Coins. Three of these are exclusive to the Store, and can’t be acquired anywhere else.
The first is Octane’s Stralightspeed skin, which is also available from the Astral Anomaly packs.
Next up is Mad Maggie’s Heat Death skin, featuring some very nice fiery effects.
Crypto’s Cosmo Logical skin is up next, almost as an antithesis to Mad Maggie’s skin.
Finally, we got Seer’s Higher Lifeform skin with a silvery coat of paint, which gives strong Warframe vibes.
How To Get Astral Anomaly Packs
There are quite a few ways to acquire packs in this Event, many of which are free, meaning you can expect to get a nice handful of the rewards without paying a dime.
Direct Purchase
You can purchase packs directly with Apex Coins, or craft them using Crafting Materials. Each pack costs 1,650 Crafting Materials, but Apex Coin costs vary, and are explained below.
The prices rise with each pack opened, but not each pack purchased. If you get packs for free, the prices rise regardless, so if you’re looking to spend Apex Coins, buy them first and then go with the free packs later. Buy them one by one instead of the 4-pack combo if you’d like to see exact pack costs; the 4-pack combo does not discount your purchase any further than buying them one by one.
The prices are as follows:
Packs Opened |
Price |
---|---|
Opened 0–2 Packs |
100 Apex Coins |
Opened 3–5 Packs |
300 Apex Coins |
Opened 6 Packs |
500 Apex Coins |
Opened 7–8 Packs |
700 Apex Coins |
Opened 9+ Packs |
1,000 Apex Coins |
If you’re looking for the most price-effective way to get rewards from the Event, buy three packs before going for the free ones.
Getting Packs For Free
There are two free packs you can acquire during the duration of the event as well.
The first one can be acquired from the Reward Shop for the Event. The pack costs 1,000 Bytes, so you can get it by doing one day’s worth of Event challenges.
The second, unexpectedly, can be acquired by doing Rift Relic Trials. Each week a new Rift Relic Trials challenge is unlocked, and completing the first one this week will net you an additional Astral Anomaly Event pack.
Technically, there are two more packs you can get for “free”; in the battlepass, at level eight and level 50, you get 100 Free Apex Coins. Since the first three packs in the Event cost 100 Apex Packs, you can get two more packs with these.
