The Netflix series Squid Game released season 2 with seven new episodes on December 26th, 2024, and fans couldn’t be more excited. The director Hwang Dong-hyuk introduced five new deadly games, each resonating with the Korean heritage. However, he still kept the giant doll from the original series, which is responsible for punishing everyone who fails in Red Light, Green Light.

Lucky for all new squid players, the previous winner, Seong Gi-Hun (player 456), tried to lead by warning them that Red Light, Green Light is not just a children’s game, but a deadly version of it. Whoever loses, dies. Despite his attempts, some players didn’t take him seriously, and things ended up bloody.

Ddakji is the introductory game of the Six-Legged Challenge. Player 222, Kim Jun-hee, must complete the traditional Korean game quickly to save time for the team. She passes on her first attempt, leaving her very proud. The rules of the game consist of strategically throwing a paper card to flip the other one on the floor. There’s a specific force to apply to the throw, as well as an ideal angle.

One of the highlights of this game was player 230: Thanos. While the rest of the contestants were terrified of the Mingle game, Thanos performed some dance moves. Russian Roulette was one of the first games played in Squid Game season 2. The game is between the salesman, also known as the recruiter, and the former winner of the game, Gi-Yun — player 456. Gi-Yun, moved by vengeance, wants him to tell him who the Frontman is. The salesman tells him the answer is in his pocket, but he needs to play a game first: Russian Roulette.

The game is simple. Load a revolver with one bullet, spin the cylinder, point the gun at one’s own head, and pull the trigger. Then it is the opponent’s turn until someone ends up dead. The salesman ends up executed.

Despite being a simple game, the Frontman, player 001, struggles to complete it, taking the team close to elimination. Player 456 tries to help the team once again by advising him to use his dominant hand. Now the question remains: was the struggle calculated or genuine? Fans also noticed the frontman’s struggle in the Mingle game, where he killed a fellow contestant.

Gong-gi, or Korean Jacks, is another children’s game from The Six-Legged Pentathlon Challenge. In Squid Game season 2, the contestant responsible for saving the team is Dae-ho, player 388. He successfully takes the team to the next game by tossing and catching the stones through all five levels on the first attempt.

The game’s purpose is to toss the stones and catch them across different sequences in all five levels, with each level becoming harder than the previous one. Concentration and steady hands are a must to succeed.
