Atakhan is the new neutral objective in League of Legends, joining the list of Epic Monsters, such as Baron Nashor and the Elemental Dragons. The so-called ‘Bringer of Ruin’, Atakhan, arrives as part of the Noxus Invasion for Season 1 of 2025, and interestingly, he is the first boss whose spawn location and form depends on prior in-game action.

When & Where Will Atakhan Spawn In League Of Legends?
Atakhan’s Spawn Time
Atakhan will always spawn at the 20-minute mark. This means that Baron’s spawn has been pushed back to the 25-minute mark.
Atakhan’s Pit Location
Atakhan’s Pit, where players will fight him, always spawns in the river at the 14-minute mark. However, depending on which side of the map has seen more damage and kills, this pit can spawn in the river next to Top Lane or Bot Lane.
Either way, this gives teams 6 minutes to prepare to fight him. Atakhan’s Pit always has two small walls to make fights for his contention all the more bloodier. These walls are permanent, sticking around after Atakhan has been slain.
Which Form Of Atakhan Will Spawn & Why?
Atakhan’s location isn’t the only factor determined by action. He has two forms and in low-action games, with less champion damage and kills, Voracious Atakhan will spawn.
If the first 14 minutes of the game have instead seen lots of champion damage and kills, then Ruinous Atakhan will grace the Rift with his presence.
As well as his visuals, the main difference between Atakhan’s two forms is the buff they grant.

Voracious Atakhan’s Buff In League Of Legends
Voracious Atakhan spawns in lower action games and thus grants a bonus that encourages the team who slew him to fight.
- All members of the team gain an extra 40g every time they score a champion takedown. This includes assists and lasts for the rest of the game.
- Every team member gains a one-time death mitigation that lasts for 150 seconds. Instead of dying, they will enter stasis for 2 seconds before returning to base after another 3.5 seconds. The enemy who would have been awarded the kill instead gets 100g and 1 Blood Petal for their team.
Ruinous Atakhan’s Buff In League Of Legends
Ruinous Atakhan spawns in higher-action games and grants the team that slays him a scaling buff.
- The team gains a 25% increase to all Epic Monster rewards for the rest of the game, such as the stats provided by killing Dragons. This also applies to objectives already taken.
- Each member will receive 6 Blood Petals.
- 6 Large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants will then spawn around his pit, allowing the team to choose who kills them to gain more stats.
What Are Blood Roses & Petals In League Of Legends
Blood Roses are the newest plant on the Rift and will typically spawn near champion deaths and Atakhan’s Pit. They also spawn after Ruinous Atakhan is slain.
By hitting these plants, champions will gain permanent Blood Petals, a new stacking buff that grants the following rewards.
- 25 XP, although this can increase by up to 100% for players with a low K/D/A.
- 1 Adaptive Force, which is either converted into AD or AP.
