White Mask Varre is one of the first characters you meet in Elden Ring, but he’s not exactly a friendly face.
White Mask Varre’s quest line in Elden Ring is one of the two ways you can get to Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area that’s home to Mohg, the Lord of Blood and the entrance to the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Ranni the Witch
Ranni the Witch initially presents herself to the player under the name Renna, and offers one of the game’s longest and most impactful quest lines. By entering her service, you will help an Empyrean take Godhood for herself, and join her in her thousand-year voyage across the stars – but only after exploring several secret areas, including the Lake of Rot.

Roderika
Roderika is a character players will meet just outside of the entrance to Stormveil Castle, before the tunnel that leads to Margit the Fell. Roderika wears a red hood and gifts the player the Spirit Jellyfish summon. After finishing this quest, Roderika will become a Spirit Tuner in the Roundtable Hold.

Boc the Seamster
Boc the Seamster is a Demi-human who is friendly to the Tarnished. After finding his relatively hidden location in Limgrave, players are tasked with finding and returning his various sewing implements, and ultimately must make a choice that’s difficult to discern the outcome of.

Patches
Patches is a recurring character throughout several FromSoftware games, and indeed he returns once again in Elden Ring. Patches is a character you can meet in a cave in Limgrave who will surrender after losing enough HP, and shows up in several locations throughout the game thereafter.

Sorceress Sellen & Jerren
Sorceress Sellen‘s questline begins in Limgrave but continues throughout several later-game areas as players are tasked with finding the location of the Primeval Sorcerers. By the end of this quest, you will have to choose to defeat Witch-Hunter Jerren or take his side and slay Sellen.

Kenneth Haight is an aristocrat in Limgrave whose castle, Fort Haight, has been taken over by forces from Stormveil Castle. Find Kenneth Haight, and liberate his Fort, to intersect with Nepheli Loux’s quest line later on.

Iron Fist Alexander
Iron Fist Alexander is one of the most iconic Elden Ring characters, and can be first encountered on a ledge on the eastern side of the Stormhill subzone of Limgrave. Knock him out of the ground in a few locations, talk to him in a few others, and you will eventually find him for the final time as the only friendly NPC in Farum Azula.

Bloody Finger Hunter Yura & Shabriri
Bloody Finger Hunter Yura wears the eye-catching Ronin set, and can be met for the first time next to a campfire in Limgrave. He will warn the player of the dragon Agheel, but later on, he suffers a most dire fate at the hands of Shabriri, a mythical, devious follower of the Three Fingers.

Warmaster Bernahl
Warmaster Bernahl (and later Knight Bernahl) can be encountered for the first time in Limgrave, again in the Volcano Manor, and for the final time in Farum Azula. After reaching Roundtable Hold, you will meet Brother Corhyn, who searches for the legendary Goldmask to study the Golden Order as his scribe. You find Goldmask in the Altus Plateau, and will earn a Mending Rune by completing this shared questline.

D, Hunter of the Dead
You can find D, Hunter of the Dead either in the northeastern part of Limgrave near Summonwater Village, or in Roundtable Hold upon visiting for the first time. His questline abruptly ends after progressing Fia’s quest to a certain point, but it picks up again with his twin brother later on – depending on your choices, Fia’s ultimate fate can be very different.

Fia, Deathbed Companion
Fia, the Deathbed Companion is encountered for the first time after getting to Roundtable Hold, in a room separate from the Roundtable itself. Edgar sits atop Castle Morne in the southeasternmost tip of Limgrave, defending the treasured sword of Morne from being taken by the Demi-human invaders. Find his daughter Irina on the road leading south to Castle Morne to start this quest, which concludes after returning to Irina’s location and getting to the Revenger’s Shack in Liurnia.

Sorcerer Rogier
You will meet Sorcerer Rogier for the first time in the church of Stormveil Castle, a non-hostile zone deep within the legacy dungeon. His quest explores the effects of Deathroot and the murder of Godwyn, and results in one of the saddest deaths (and best early weapon rewards) in the game.

Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman
Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman, can be met after progressing D, Hunter of the Dead’s quest line, or by visiting the Bestial Sanctum directly in the northeastern Dragonbarrow. Gurranq hungers for Deathroot, and every Deathroot you bring him will progress his quest, reward gear, and unlock Incantations.

Finger Maiden Hyetta
You will meet Hyetta next to the first Site of Grace in Liurnia, right outside the exit from Stormveil Castle’s throne room. To progress her quest, which delves into the mysteries and horrors of the Frenzied Flame, find Shabriri Grapes to give her. You will eventually find Shabriri in the Mountaintops of Giants, who guides players to the Frenzied Flame ending for Elden Ring.
