As you make your way through Atlyss, the RPG by indie developer Kiseff, you will realize that getting the right armor can go a long way in ensuring your success in combat. But choosing the armor that fits the build that you are going for can be a daunting task. The equipment is divided into six different types, and you have to put together the gear that works perfectly in tandem with each piece.

However, although almost every armor piece has options that are dedicated to a single class, the Rings are fortunately all universal. All you need to keep in check while choosing the right one is their overall productivity.

Old Ring
If you are just starting out on your journey in Atlyss, you can’t expect to get armor pieces that you can only obtain at higher levels, which means you have two options to choose from at the very beginning of the game. While the critical rates of the Ring of Ambition are reasonable benefits, the entire point of the armor itself is to protect you from incoming damage, which is where the Old Ring makes its timely entrance.
Not only does it increase your defensive abilities against regular attacks, but it also protects you from magic. And considering how much easier it is to actually acquire it, whether through killing Greater Wisps or breaking a pot, there really is not any reason not to equip it early in the game.

Ambersquire Ring
Ensuring that you have enough stamina can make or break many encounters in Atlyss, so a Ring that provides a significant buff is something that should be considered as you progress through the game. Being one of the three Rings that can be found in the chests at the Sanctum Catacombs, the Ambersquire Ring not only increases your stamina but also provides enough defense to keep you going for a while.
Compared to the Emeraldfocus and Sapphireweave Rings, which fall in a similar category, the Ambersquire Ring’s defensive abilities are unmatched at early levels. This makes it an armor piece that you should keep on hand until you progress enough to sell it.

Students Ring
If you have been using the Mystic class during your time in Atlyss, it would make sense for you to want armor pieces that can increase your magic stats to make the build as effective as possible. Thankfully, the Students Ring caters to the Mystic class perfectly, providing quite a significant buff to both your magical power and critical rate. While the rest of your armor pieces deal with the defense, the Ring can be used on the offensive front instead.
If you do not want to spend too much money on it, it can be easily acquired by killing Wizboars. Just in case you want to elevate its stats even further, the option of Enchanting it is always available.

Pearlpond Ring
Compared to its Slitherwraith counterpart, the Pearlpond Ring proves quite balanced in various scenarios, as, for starters, its mana buff alone makes it more than worthy of being considered as a part of your armor. Combine that with the increase in magic power that it provides, and you have yourself a great option, especially if you are using the Mystic class in Atlyss.
The Ring also offers enough dex power to help you survive many battles, and the best part is that it does not even cost that much to either purchase from Craig at the Wall of the Stars or Enchant when you want to increase its potential.
Use the Lively Enchantment on the Pearlpond Ring to take care of your health and defense as well, which will increase the armor piece’s overall effectiveness.

Orbos Ring
When you have the Orbos Ring as a part of your armor set, there are plenty of worries that get left behind because of it, starting off with its ability to increase your health at crucial moments. While you have your health in check, you can rest assured that you will not be running out of stamina anytime soon either, making it an effective piece of gear that caters to your character’s two major stats.
Of course, it only gets better when you put its defensive abilities into consideration, as aside from providing more than enough regular defense, it protects you from incoming magic attacks as well. The only downside is that it can get a little costly to Enchant, which could hurt its long-term place in your equipment.

Jadetrout Ring
Despite being a common item, the Jadetrout Ring gives its rare Valor counterpart a run for its money with almost double the stats of whatever the latter offers, ranging from the attack power to dexterity and magic abilities. In addition to all of that, the Ring also comes with enough mana buff to keep your magic in check, and combined with its much higher critical damage rate, it is a no-brainer inclusion in your armor.
Even acquiring it is not the hardest thing to do, as you can simply just purchase it from Craig or get it from a chest in Crescent Grove, which ensures much less hassle than trying to complete an entire quest just for one Ring.
If you are using the Mystic class, use the Magical Enchantment on the Jadetrout Ring, which will enhance its magic abilities even further.

Geistlord Band
There are two types of Geistlord Rings that you can acquire in Atlyss, but the Geistlord Band is superior in almost every aspect when compared with its relatively earlier counterpart. Although both the Geistlord Ring and Band focus on the same stats, almost every buff is doubled with the latter, providing you with very high health, mana, and stamina as a result.
Naturally, evading incoming attacks is also something that you should keep in mind to get out of tricky combat situations, which is another area where the Geistlord Band comes in quite handy. Unfortunately, you will have to kill Lord Kaluuz to try to obtain it, and even then, there’s not a sure-fire guarantee that you will get it.

Earthwoken Ring
The best Ring in Atlyss has to be one that can cater to every single playstyle, regardless of the class that you have chosen for yourself, which is why the Earthwoken Ring easily stands out as the greatest among them all. If you are playing in the Fighter class, you can keep attacking your enemies without worrying too much about your health and defense.
On the other hand, if you are playing in the Mystic class, you can rest assured knowing that your mana and magic defense are well taken care of. Even Bandits can take advantage of its stamina buffs, ultimately making it the most universal Ring available in Atlyss. Just make sure Colossus doesn’t kill you before you get the chance to acquire it.
