Supervive’s Season Zero update brings adorable new Hunter and Warped Items

Supervive’s Season Zero update brings adorable new Hunter and Warped Items

I played myriad games in my extensive time off over Christmas. I spent my New Year’s Eve playing League of Legends with friends, explored the vast expanses of Faerûn in Baldur’s Gate 3, and fell in love with the chaotic, dystopian universe of Cyberpunk 2077 all over again. But I also whiled away the winter hours on Supervive, not quite working up the courage to dive into ranked, but finally getting my Myth gameplay to a place that feels not awful. Coming into 2025, however, Supervive Season Zero has just dropped, and it brings with it adorable new hero Beebo and the mysterious Warped Items. Looks like I’ll be diving back in.

The highlight of Supervive Season Zero is, of course, Beebo. A shadowy little figure cloaked in a bright blue hoodie, sporting huge bunny ears and, erm, a baseball bat, this mischievous little critter can snipe foes from afar with his Zeeps, and get up close using his Schwoop dash.

Most importantly, however, his ultimate spawns an adorable little train-like cart that he can use to collect allies and steer them to safety, all while they rain fire on their foes. If you crash the car it also deals damages to any enemies you strike – it’s easily the multiplayer game‘s best ability yet, and I won’t hear otherwise.

In addition to Beebo, however, there’s the new Warped Item system, which changes up builds in an almost roguelike fashion. Theorycraft notes that “players often choose the same evolves, over and over, for equipment,” and the new system will instead “reward players for thinking on their feet.”

Blue tier items now offer a Warped evolution as a fourth choice. These keep the original item’s base stats, but roll a random passive from any piece of gear in the game, with some potential boosts available on the side. You’ve got a 75% chance of rolling another blue tier item, a 20% shot at pulling extra stats from the item the passive comes from, and, if you’re in the lucky 5%, you’ll get one of three legendary passives.

As someone who also follows the same build path most games, this is a unique and innovative system that I genuinely want try out. I often find myself on autopilot when it comes to picking items, and while that doesn’t detract from the gameplay, that coinflip element adds an extra element of risk that I already know I’ll be craving – maybe not in ranked, though.

But there’s more. The item store is now available globally, with Delivery Drop Pods sending your equipment directly to your destination. There’s a 20-second delay, and the Pod will also pick up any items that your allies buy, too. Theorycraft does warn that this “might not be the final shape of how we want to use gold,” so we’ll have to see if the system works out.

Other Season Zero highlights include a map expansion with a new Swap territory popping up next to Academy, only four Exotics will now spawn (unless the Storm dictates otherwise), and there’s a brand new battlepass, too. Brall has also taken a few nerfs, with Hudson getting a little buff after being taken down a notch in 2024. You can read the full list of changes here.
