Some Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket players have discovered an issue with the latest Wonder Pick event that forces them to fulfill certain mission requirements twice. The bug, which was reportedly also present in some previous events, has the potential to annoy the most diligent Pokemon TCG Pocket players, who always try to clear missions as quickly as possible.
DeNA’s hit mobile game has been hosting Wonder Pick promotions on a regular basis since its late October 2024 release. The latest Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick event kicked off on January 6, at 10pm local time. As per usual, the new event offers a consistent influx of Chansey Picks that provide players with the opportunity to grab some promo cards. This time around, the highlight cards are Charmander #32 and Squirtle #33, both of which are part of the Promo A set and classified as Rare.

Pokemon TCG Pocket unleashes a new wave of Premium Pass rewards and shop items for players to pick up in January 2025.
Much like the previous Wonder Pick events, the early January 2025 one comes with some themed missions that players can complete to earn special Pokemon TCG Pocket Shop Tickets. These tasks include two families of challenges requiring players to collect a certain number of the Charmander and Squirtle cards featured in the event. But as recently noted by Reddit user Arucious, these missions went live sometime after their accompanying Chansey Picks, and the game doesn’t check whether players have already completed their requirements retroactively.
Some Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick Mission Requirements May Need To Be Completed Twice
As a result, Pokemon TCG Pocket players could obtain Charmander #32, Squirtle #33, or both before their collection tasks were available. Anyone who did so didn’t have those cards count toward their mission requirements. While Reddit user Arucious was the first to highlight this issue, dozens of other players confirmed they were also affected by it following the fan’s initial report. According to some user accounts, the same problem was present in a number of previous Wonder Pick events.
Developer DeNA hasn’t yet acknowledged this problem in an official capacity. But looking at the slightly bigger picture, the Japanese studio has so far dealt with minor issues of this sort fairly quickly. E.g., the Pokemon TCG Pocket bug that hid Shop freebies from players was fixed within days of players first identifying it in mid-December 2024. It’s hence possible that this particular issue will also be dealt with swiftly.
In the meantime, affected players can take some solace in the fact that the ongoing Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick promo runs until January 20, at 9:59pm local time. This gives even fans who haven’t yet started the event’s tasks plenty of time to complete all the limited-time missions.
