In a shocking move from PARIVISION, the Russian team removes their hard carry player, Remco “Crystallis” Arets, signing Team Spirit loaner Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov.
This coming right after winning their first major tournament at ESL One Bangkok 2024, is heart-wrenching for Crystallis and his fans.
Satanic in, Crystallis out.
PARIVISION’s announcement on securing an agreement with Team Spirit to loan Satanic has received backlash from fans. In their official statement, they also shared that Crystallis is benched as they use Satanic for their active Dota 2 roster.
On the Dota 2 Reddit forum, fans were baffled with PARIVISION’s decision, considering the success PARIVISION acquired alongside Crystallis.
Looking back at PARIVISION’s debut and rise to success, Crystallis has been a crucial piece in their roster, after all. Even before their ESL One Bangkok 2024 success, PARIVISION has consistently performed beyond the expectations of a newly-emerging team.
Why did PARIVISION remove Crystallis for Satanic?
Although PARIVISION has not provided any reason for Crystallis’ removal, many fans have speculated that it’s likely due to language barrier.
For the uninitiated, every player in PARIVISION is either a Russian or in the case of Ukrainian player, Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko, he can speak Russian.
Whereas Crystallis is a Dutch player from the Netherlands, who likely can’t speak Russian, crucial for swift in-game callouts. Hence, PARIVISION players likely found that the language barrier proved to be too much of a handicap for them to advance further into the new Dota 2 season.
What’s next for Crystallis?
Unfortunately, this puts Crystallis in an awkward situation, where he will have to find a new Dota 2 team.
Just when it seems like the new season is going well for the young prodigy, this news will set him back. Nevertheless, Crystallis is a phenomenal player himself, so finding a team wouldn’t be too difficult. He has placed second at the International 2022 (TI11) and participated in various major tournaments, so that’s quite the portfolio for the hard carry player.
However, it’s still a shame to see Crystallis lose out on a team that he has found decent success with. As for PARIVISION, many fans are still skeptical about their decision to scout a young player without any accomplishments over a seasoned one like Crystallis.
Then again, it’s No[o]ne-, who has been fundamental in PARIVISION’s recent success.
