However, Sony’s Spider-Man Universe bombed at the box office with subsequent flops Morbius and Madame Web. Even Venom 3 underperformed compared to its predecessors. Those box office misfortunes culminated with Kraven the Hunter performing so poorly at the box office that reports claimed Sony was officially scrapping its Spider-Man Universe plans.
