  • The story of Campaign 3 is approaching its finale, with an uncertain number of episodes remaining.
  • Critical Role and its community are supporting those affected by the fires, with donations to the California Community Foundation.

Critical Role is skipping this week’s episode of Campaign 3, as the fires in Los Angeles have directly impacted the cast, crew, and community of the Dungeons and Dragons actual play stream. Though Critical Role hopes to get back to the show on January 16, players should be patient in case the situation demands the conclusion to the Dungeons and Dragons story to be delayed further.

The story of Campaign 3 is ramping up to its finale. The previous episode ended on a major cliffhanger as Bells Hells face down their greatest threat yet, while one of their own may be lost forever in the process. The exact number of episodes remaining in the story is unclear, but it is clear that Critical Role will be finishing up their third campaign soon – and possibly starting a new one using their Daggerheart TTRPG system.

Critical Role Might be Announcing a Video Game Soon

The nerdy voice actors of Critical Role tease that a “really exciting” announcement is on the way, and fans are asked to keep an eye out for more.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer to see how Campaign 3 ends. Critical Role recently announced that the stream on Thursday, January 9, would be canceled due to the fires in Los Angeles, California. Many cast and crew members were directly affected by the catastrophe, leading to episode 119 being pushed back a week, with the next broadcast currently planned to take place on January 16 instead.

Critical Role Campaign 3 January 9 Stream Canceled

Dungeon Master and voice actor Matt Mercer and his wife and fellow cast member Marisha Ray revealed that they were forced to flee at short notice, taking little more than their dog Omar with them. Loremaster Dani Carr found herself in the eye of the fires, and was safe during her latest update. On the other hand, Critical Role producer Kyle Shire lost his home and personal belongings in the blaze, though he and his pets were able to make it to safety before then. The rest of the cast have been sharing relief posts and updates on social media, indicating they are at least safe from the fires.

While it is Critical Role’s intention to return to its streaming on Beacon and Twitch after only a week, it would not be surprising if the show experienced further delays. As the situation continues to unfold, Critters should be patient and offer what help they can to those affected by the fires.

Critical Role itself is doing just that. Fueled by donations from the community, the Critical Role Foundation is donating $30,000 to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, which will help people who were impacted by this fires. As the people of Los Angeles work through this disaster, it is clear that both the cast of Critical Role and its Critters are living the show’s motto: “Don’t forget to love each other.”
