Kiki’s Delivery Service Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary
Tatsuya Endou is the mangaka of a very popular manga known as Spy X Family. Recently, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Kiki’s Delivery Service, he came out with a new illustration. It’s important to note that this is for the anniversary of the novel Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono, which just turned 40, as it was released back in 1985, and not of the famous movie adaptation by Ghibli, as that was released a few years later in 1989.
The illustration by Tatsuya Endou features Kiki and her cat Jiji in his own art style as they fly over the city on her broomstick. Kiki looks very similar to Anya here.
What is Kiki’s Delivery Service About?
Kiki’s Delivery Service was initially a novel by Eiko Kadono that was released 40 years ago. This novel would be adapted into a movie by the famous animation Studio Ghibli.
The story follows Kiki, a witch, with her black cat, Jiji, as they settle for their new lives in a new town. Kiki opens her own delivery service, the Witch Delivery Service, which she fulfills on her broomstick.

Spy x Family is a very popular manga written by Tatsuya Endou. The manga has especially garnered a lot of popularity ever since its first anime season dropped back in 2022. The manga itself started back in 2019 and is still ongoing.
The story follows Loid, Yor, and Anya, a very odd family. Loid is a spy, Yor is an assassin, and Anya is their adopted kid who can read other people’s minds. Loid and Yor are unaware of each other’s real professions, and only Anya knows everything, thanks to her mind-reading abilities.
