- The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be unveiled before March 2025.
The Nintendo Switch 2 logo might have just been leaked, and with it possible confirmation of the console’s official name. Nintendo’s forthcoming console has generated many rumors and leaks over the past several months, ever since Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa revealed that it indeed exists in early 2024. So far, it is believed that the Switch 2 will be shown in full before the end of March 2025, with a launch coming later this year.
Exactly when players can expect to dive into Nintendo’s newest hardware has been the subject of much speculation following Furukawa’s announcement back in May 2024, but Nintendo has largely remained tight-lipped on the Switch 2 lately. It isn’t entirely known that the new system will even be called the Nintendo Switch 2, though most leaks and rumors seem to indicate that this will be the case. Many of these rumors also claim that the Switch 2 will have the same basic design as the current Switch, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise for Nintendo to market it as a direct follow-up to its massively successful system.

Rumor: ‘Nintendo Switch 2 Replica’ Has Been Showcased By Accessory Maker
New images reportedly show a highly accurate replica of the Nintendo Switch 2 created by a popular console accessory maker.
Comicbook reports that the Nintendo Switch 2 logo has just been leaked online. Shared by Universo Nintendo editor-in-chief Necro Felipe on Bluesky, this alleged logo is nearly identical to the original Switch’s, down to the stylized Joy-Con controller above the words “Nintendo Switch.” The only real point of difference is the number 2 placed next to the Joy-Con, which seems to confirm that the “Nintendo Switch 2” name that fans have been using as a placeholder will be the system’s official moniker.
New Nintendo Console Might Actually Be Called Switch 2
The logo hasn’t been officially verified, and some are still uncertain about “Nintendo Switch 2” being the console’s actual name. After all, Nintendo’s past consoles have had radically different names from their predecessors, with the closest one being the Wii U, the less-successful follow-up to 2006’s high-selling Nintendo Wii. There are those who think that the Wii U’s less-than-conventional name hurt its sales, so perhaps Nintendo is taking a more straightforward approach for the upcoming Switch 2.
Past Nintendo Switch 2 leaks seem to support the name and logo shared by Necro Felipe, but gamers should refrain from taking any of the current rumors as established fact until the system is officially unveiled. Another rumor suggests that the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 reveal could happen sooner rather than later, at least if a recent social media update is of any indication.
