One Piece: Why Elbaf Will Be Luffy’s Biggest Test Yet
Luffy has a huge fight upcoming in Elbaf. It will be his biggest test yet in One Piece.
Durability
Which Of The Two Can Survive Intense Combat?
When taking a look at Naruto’s durability, he can utilize a lot of abilities as a chunin that can prevent him from being taken out immediately in battle. In particular, due to Kurama and the Six Paths Sage Mode, Naruto has the ability to heal himself, especially from wounds that are particularly intense and life-threatening. Along with this, he can use chakra cloaks to improve his physical durability, so whenever a powerful attack is hurled his way that he cannot dodge, he has a good chance of surviving it without much issue.
As for Luffy, he possesses quite a few qualities that could give him an edge in battle in terms of durability. Not only does he have a rubber body from the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which prevents him from taking damage from blunt-force attacks, but he has also mastered Armament Haki. This, along with Conqueror’s Haki, allows him to greatly improve his defense, and he can easily take on heavy attacks and survive without much issue. He even survived Magellan’s deadly poison and was able to take on Kaido in an intense battle.
Durability Winner – Luffy
Though Naruto certainly possesses a few skills that would keep him from being knocked out too quickly, Luffy is the winner here due to his Gear 5 essentially making physical attacks useless. He also has a lot of endurance with the Gear 5 and flexibility to dodge attacks.
Speed
Which Can Dodge The Other Faster?
Naruto’s speed is unlike any other’s. Not only are his reactions almost instantaneous due to the Six Paths Sage Mode, he can also easily counter extremely powerful attacks from those who possess impressive speed as well, such as Kaguya. Along with this, Naruto can move at impressive speeds, especially when using abilities such as Kurama Chakra Mode dashes, or even the Shunshin no Jutsu. This rivals Sasuke’s space-time teleportation. When attacking opponents, he can utilize the Six Paths Sage Mode or Kurama’s chakra to quickly attack with multiple moves at once, overwhelming his opponents to the point where they cannot retaliate.
As for Luffy’s speed, he also has abilities that far outshine his peers and opponents. His Observation Haki gives him the ability to sense an opponent’s attack before it even happens, giving him a hefty advantage in terms of speed. With his Gear 5 as well, he can contort and move his body at a second’s notice, making it near impossible for enemies to get a hit on him. His Gear 2 and Gear 4 also give him a significant boost to his movement speed, making it easy for him to take on impossibly fast enemies like Doflamingo.
Speed Winner: Naruto
Though Luffy would certainly give Naruto a run for his money, Naruto slightly takes the lead due to his near-instantaneous attacks such as the Light Fang. He can also use abilities similar to teleportation, making it incredibly difficult for Luffy to compete in the speed category.

Naruto is a series renowned for its compelling villains, many of which have left several impactful quotes that reveal a lot about their characters.
Intelligence
Who Can Outsmart The Other?
Though Naruto was certainly reckless in the beginning of his journey, he becomes more focused and is able to read his enemies as he grows. He becomes much more strategic in his battles, and is able to easily outsmart his opponents with tactics such as Shadow Clones and traps to misdirect them. Along with this, Naruto has the ability to easily pick up new techniques and methods, such as Rasenshuriken and Sage Mode, learning these in an impressively short period of time. He possesses emotional intelligence as well, making him highly capable of forming deep bonds with others and utilizing other methods outside of sheer force to defeat an enemy.
Though many might initially perceive Luffy to be devoid of intelligence, he surprises his opponents with his raw instincts and unpredictability. He is able to read his enemies as well, giving him the chance to form a plan in a short period of time to defeat opponents. Similar to Naruto, he can also quickly pick up new techniques and master them with ease, such as Gear 2 all the way to Gear 5. He possesses high emotional intelligence as well, with lots of charisma and the ability to easily draw in loyal allies.
Intelligence Winner: Naruto
Luffy possesses impressive battle intelligence, but Naruto wins this one due to his more reliable methods of learning new tactics rather than relying on instinct. He also has more extensive long-term planning abilities, allowing him to approach situations with confidence and ease.
Skills and Strength
Who Can Utilize More Powerful Tactics?
Naruto, as he expands his knowledge and abilities over time, begins to obtain some incredibly powerful skills, ranging from Taijutsu to Ninjutsu. Especially when using Ninjutsu methods, Naruto can whip out the Tailed Beast Bomb, Rasengan, or Rasenshuriken, which can defeat enemies in no time. He can manipulate chakra as well through the Six Paths Sage Mode, making him one of the best Ninjutsu users among others in the series. As for his physical strength, it has become enhanced by Kurama’s chakra, giving him beast-like abilities, allowing him to simply destroy mountains and large items. Especially when utilizing Six Paths Sage Mode, he can take on some of the most formidable foes, like Kaguya, and his rival, Sasuke.
Luffy has a lot of experience in hand-to-hand combat, which becomes even more enhanced by his Gear 5 abilities. He is a pro when it comes to brawling, and can easily avoid any incoming attacks with his rubber body. He utilizes a few different techniques to gain an advantage in battle as well, including Gomu Gomu no Pistol, and Jet Gatling, giving him a quick and easy way to defeat his opponents. He also possesses Haki, which allows him to enhance his strength further, and obtain precognition and increase his chances of defeating more powerful enemies.
Skills and Strength Winner: Naruto
Again, despite Luffy having some impressive tactics and strength, Naruto would still have the upperhand here. His Ninjutsu abilities and Shadow Clones would easily confuse Luffy and put him at a disadvantage, and Naruto’s raw physical strength can destroy much more powerful enemies than Luffy.

Big Mom’s story is tied to Elbaf. Here’s what her role will be in this massive One Piece arc.
Track Record
Who Has Had More Wins?
Naruto has had his fair share of battles against formidable opponents, whether early on in his adventure or as he becomes more advanced. Some of his early wins include Zabuza and Haku, as well as Neji during the Chunin Exams, despite Neji’s prodigy status and Naruto’s glaring weaknesses. As his story continues, he begins to take on much more powerful enemies, including Pain/Nagato, Kaguya, and finally Sasuke, his long-time rival and friend. Throughout these wins, he was able to stay calm and utilize not only his physical strength, but his many abilities and impressive planning.
Luffy has come across tons of opponents throughout his time in One Piece, and has won a fair share of these battles despite the road blocks in his way. In order to prove his strength as a leader, Luffy is able to defeat Arlong, Crocodile, and even Enel, who is the ruler of Skypiea and holds god-like strength and abilities. He is also able to use Observation Haki to his advantage against Katakuri, who could predict all of his moves. Perhaps his most memorable win was against Kaido, after losing to him a few times early on. His use of Gear 5 allows him to stand out and cement his role as the leader.
Track Record Winner: Luffy
Naruto has definitely had his fair share of impressive wins, but Luffy has much more battle experience and has won a majority of them. He is determined as the leader of his group, so he can protect them all, which shows in his impressive track record.
Overall Winner: Naruto
- Superior Speed
- Superior Intelligence
- Superior Skills and Strength
Though Luffy has his own unique abilities that make him stand out in One Piece and serve as a powerful leader, when up against Naruto, he wouldn’t be able to overcome Naruto’s strategic prowess and strength. The use of Ninjutsu alone would stump Luffy, and the Shadow Clones would likely overwhelm him. His Six Paths Sage Mode would make it difficult for Luffy to land any attacks on Naruto, thereby securing his win against the pirate leader.
