NVIDIA’s GeForce 50-Series GPUs are generating the most CES 2025 hype. Still, Nanoleaf smart lights always draw onlookers at the Las Vegas convention. In recent years, the manufacturer has diversified its lineup with various smart home devices. However, Nanoleaf’s latest announcements include more familiar lamps and lightstrips. The slender Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp is up for a pre-order price of under $100. Buyers should expect the PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip and 4D TV 2 backlighting kit to arrive in Q2 2025.
Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp
Nanoleaf’s new floor lamp is a practical way to distribute light over large areas. Govee smart lights include popular standing lamps, but the Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp is exceedingly thin. Nanoleaf lists its thickness as .75 inches, while standing at 55 inches. Even with a slim profile, the Nanoleaf lamp’s brightness was not compromised. At 1700 lumens, it features 72 LEDs spread out over 24 lighting zones. With tunable whites, the light provides essential illumination or cool hues for relaxing hours.
The Nanoleaf Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Matter connectivity. With Matter, the lamp becomes easier to pair and control through more smart home platforms. Buyers can operate the smart light with voice commands or set schedules in compatible apps. The Smart Multicolor Floor Lamp puts on a show at festive gatherings as it reacts to music.
PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip
Another focus of CES 2025 for Nanoleaf is on screen mirroring. This technology enhances gaming with lighting effects inspired by images on monitors. Compatible with displays up to 32″, the trimmable PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip has a Zigzag design that effortlessly routes around corners. Buyers with dual monitor setups can connect multiple kits and sync their effects.
One issue with TV and monitor backlighting is processing delays during fast-paced gaming. The Nanoleaf PC Screen Mirror Lightstrip solves that issue by avoiding any cameras. The lightstrip communicates with Nanoleaf Desktop software on PCs and Macs through a USB cable. Unfortunately, console gamers must rely on camera-based alternatives like the new Nanoleaf 4D V2.
4D V2
I reviewed the Nanoleaf 4D in 2023 and found it provided vivid and accurate TV backlighting. At the time, it was one of the most affordable kits compatible with 85-inch TVs. The 4D V2 is an evolution of the first 4D with a more flexible installation. Buyers no longer need corner brackets to keep these sections of the lights lying flat.
The 4D V2 includes an upgraded camera with a mount that sits more securely on the top bezel. Nanoleaf’s latest camera also captures a wider field of view, avoiding dead spots. While Nanoleaf isn’t specific about compatible screen sizes, the 4D V2 is expected to support large TVs and smaller monitors.
Most of these new smart lights will be accessible in the Nanoleaf Desktop app. The manufacturer is launching Nanoleaf Premium to introduce Orchestrator and Scenescapes. Orchestrator analyzes music in real time and processes lighting effects without latency. Meanwhile, Scenescapes plays calming soundtracks while producing tranquil illumination. Although this functionality isn’t free, Nanoleaf Premium will cost only $1.99 monthly after a free one-month trial.
