As standard, The Evil Within isn’t too hard of a Platinum to obtain, but thanks to the game’s “Akumu” mode, that trophy becomes almost impossible to get. Akumu is unlocked after completing The Evil Within one time. The biggest difference from the regular game mode is that Sebastian will die instantly if he takes damage, and that includes self-inflicted damage. Rarer and more challenging enemies appear early on in the game, ammo is scarce, and there’s a shortage of Green Gel when killing hostiles.

Players will earn the “You Asked For It” trophy after finishing the Akumu mode. It is considered the most difficult trophy to get in The Evil Within, since even the smallest amount of damage will result in a game over for Sebastian. But “You Asked For It” isn’t the only stressful trophy in The Evil Within. Some of the gold trophies involve challenges like finishing the game in a clear time of five hours or less, or finishing the story without upgrading gear with Green Gel.

Even Nightmare mode has checkpoints and save locations, but Insane requires players to complete the whole game in one run.

In addition to Insane mode, Outlast has a lot of collectibles that are hidden in darker, less accessible areas and require a bit of exploring, which can be an afterthought while in high-stress situations or chase sequences. To obtain every collectible, players would need to replay the game numerous times to get accustomed to its mechanics and then explore every nook and cranny.
