Summary
- Half-Life fans have spotted that Valve has a seemingly hidden upcoming release listed on its publisher profile on Steam.
- Further investigation revealed that this oddity has only been on Valve’s profile since December 29, making the chances of it being a bug of some kind fairly unlikely.
- It suggests that Valve may have something to announce in the very near future, and Half-Life 3 fans will be praying that 2025 will actually be their year.
Half-Life 3 may have felt like a pipe dream just a few years ago, but rumors surrounding its imminent reveal have been coming thick and fast. Not only that, but fans believe Valve itself and actors potentially involved with the project have been teasing the title with a bizarre ARG that has them breaking down songs, social media accounts, and more.
Theories surrounding the ARG started to crumble earlier today, but Half-Life fans have now been given renewed hope after they spotted an oddity on Valve’s publisher profile on Steam. First spotted by a Reddit user called Relevant_Basis5444 and shared with the Valve subreddit, it appears as though Valve has two unreleased games listed on its profile, yet only one of them is visible to the public.
Half-Life 3 Rumors Heat Up As Valve Has A Hidden “Upcoming Release” On Steam
If you head to Valve’s publisher page, you can see that the “Upcoming Releases” section has the number two next to it, but only Valve’s popular MOBA Deadlock is actually listed there. Deadlock is there as it technically hasn’t been released yet, what with it still being in early access, but this second mystery game is nowhere to be seen, and is likely deliberately hidden from the public eye.
Better yet, some internet sleuths used the Wayback Machine to discover that this oddity has only actually been present on Valve’s publisher profile since December 29, which is the month in which Half-Life 3 rumors really started to heat up. Another user called DogmemeYT also pointed out that something very similar happened in 2021, as Atlus’ publisher profile was updated with a mystery unreleased title right before the announcement of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on Steam.
Of course, there’s absolutely no way of knowing what this mystery title could be, and it’s possible it may not be related to Half-Life at all. However, if this isn’t some kind of weird glitch, it is a sure sign that Valve is planning to announce something pretty soon, and I’m sure that every Half-Life fan will have their fingers crossed that this year is finally the one.
