It also didn’t help that Dawntrail was a bit of a letdown for many, with the story proving to be the biggest point of contention. Most of that is down to the focus on Wuk Lamat, who commanded almost every minute of screen time throughout the expansion.
We know she did because a Final Fantasy 14 fan recently crunched the numbers and analyzed every piece of dialogue in Final Fantasy 14’s MSQ and miscellaneous content to find out which characters are more talkative than others. This fan – who goes by Turn_A_Blind_Eye on Reddit – shared their results on the FF14 subreddit, and the results are pretty wild.

Wuk Lamat Is FF14’s Third-Biggest Blabbermouth
Turn_A_Blind_Eye began by seeing which characters had the most lines throughout the entirety of Final Fantasy 14, all the way back to the beginning of A Realm Reborn. You probably won’t be surprised to hear that Alphinaud is out in front by far, followed by Alisaie. They’re the poster children for FF14, so that’s understandable, but Dawntrail’s Wuk Lamat is somehow in third place.

Take a look at the stats, and it seems as though Wuk Lamat has more dialogue in just Dawntrail than the majority of the Scions have throughout all of FF14, racking up a total of 3,077 lines and 39,134 words. It’s also revealed that Wuk Lamat has a whopping 24 percent of the total character lines in Dawntrail, meaning almost a quarter of the entire script was her alone. Now that’s what you call a blabbermouth.
That also goes some to explaining exactly why so many fans are already fairly sick of her, and why it felt so much like our Warriors of Light took a bit of a backseat in Dawntrail. It’s by far the most dialogue that any character has had in just a single expansion, and considering we’re only one and a bit patches into post-Dawntrail, you’d have to assume that number is going to grow quite a bit.
