A Vast Library of Manga Titles From Renowned Publishers To Increase Membership Value
Purini also followed his announcement with a few thoughts about the opportunity presented by Crunchyroll’s upcoming manga app, which he has described as a soon-to-be “a premiere online manga app that carries catalogs from renowned publishers” and a venture that will “strengthen partnerships” with the aim being to add more value to the Crunchyroll membership. The current Crunchyroll membership grants access to their huge library of anime, the Crunchyroll Game Vault, as well as the products available in the Crunchyroll Store. While the application will debut in the U.S. and Canada, other language options have been planned.
Research shows that nearly 70% of anime fans read digital manga at least once a month, highlighting the immense demand for this medium. Crunchyroll Manga will not only meet this growing interest but also fuel the continued global popularity of anime and manga alike.

Crunchyroll Manga is not the first time that the platform has offered manga, as distribution of a manga anthology began distribution on October 30, 2013, with chapters simultaneously published with the Japanese release. It was available in 170 countries, except Japan, China, France, Germany and Italy; however, it went on to shut down in December 2023. At this point, no information regarding the publishers or works that will be available through the Crunchryroll Manga app is available, but more news can be expected as we get closer to the app’s launch date. Previous iterations of the Crunchyroll manga service featured titles from publishers like Futabasha (Manga Action), Kodansha (Weekly Shonen Magazine), Kadokawa Shoten (Monthly Shonen Ace) and Shōnen Gahōsha.
