Summary
- Black Clover nearing its end with Jump GIGA release schedule
- Next chapter in Spring 2025 likely the “climax of the Kingdom’s battle”
- Transition from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA relieved hiatus pressure
It has been reported that Black Clover is in its final arc. Luckily, before officially saying goodbye, Black Clover fans will be able to enjoy not only one, but two new chapters this month, when Jump GIGA drops a new issue on January 10.
This series is an interesting case. Especially after the anime adaptation debuted, it became a massive Shonen Jump hit. But it started going on hiatus, until it has finally been moved from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA, a “sister magazine” generally published once every three months. Jump GIGA can have new issues dropped on a different schedule, but those are usually special occasions.

The Black Bull squad of Black Clover is infamous for its renegade personalities. Here’s a look at each member’s age, height and birthday.
According to new information, the next chapter will be released in the Spring Issue, which will probably drop in April 2025. But it seems the story will reach its conclusion this year, as the chapter will feature the “climax of the Kingdom’s decisive battle”.
While it seems to be about the final battle of the story, creator Yuuki Tabata could still have plans for the narrative. However, “climax” is a word generally used to refer to the final moments of a manga. Not only that, but fans have generally agreed that the story should end in just a few chapters. The “climax” might be followed by one or two chapters to show what happened to the main characters in the aftermath.
Black Clover Moved from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA
When Black Clover was moved to Jump GIGA, the audience was a bit surprised, but also maybe a bit relieved. As stated above, the story went through some hiatuses and, despite no official word coming from Jump, it actually seemed Tabata was having trouble (and maybe even health concerns) keeping writing the manga on a weekly basis.
So, despite being one of the most famous titles of the magazine, the editorial team decided to move it to Jump GIGA, putting the story into a quarterly schedule.
The Anime Adaptation Is Incomplete
In March 2021, the also massively popular Black Clover anime came to an end. Fans have been expecting Studio Pierrot to eventually announce a comeback for the series, covering the rest of the story.
While, unfortunately, there has been no word on that, which makes it all the more surprising that the studio abruptly “dropped” such a popular series. However, Black Clover is not the only project Pierrot has left on hold. A special series celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Naruto anime adaptation was supposed to air in 2023, then delayed infinitely. Maybe Bleach: Thousand-Year Bloody War is more challenging to adapt than the studio initially anticipated, so they are postponing other projects to focus on this one.
Black Clover‘s latest chapters can be read for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump services.
