Gather Snow Racers Flags In Other Events And Build Your Team On Day One

To participate in the Snow Racers event this week in Monopoly Go, you’ll first need to gather Snow Racers flags from other events and collections. These include but aren’t limited to:

  • Participating in the center banner events that are displayed just below your current cash total in Monopoly Go. These tend to be longer in duration, but they have more milestones and, therefore, more free Snow Racers flags.
  • Participating in the daily leaderboard tournaments that are displayed amid your flash events for the day. These are often shorter with fewer milestones, but the point requirements are lower and they refresh more often to give newer access to easier-to-get prizes, many of which will be Snow Racers tokens during the event.
  • Collecting your free in-game store rewards during the event, which offer a few extra flags in addition to the usual cash payouts, free dice rolls, and sticker packs.
  • Landing on tiles around your Monopoly Go game boards that have a checkered flag on them – these offer free Snow Racers flags relative to the dice roll multiplier you used to land on that tile.
  • Choosing Flags as lap rewards as you help roll around the Snow Racers game board once the actual dice rolling begins.

You’ll need at least 20 Snow Racers flags to roll the dice, but you can choose to roll more at the cost of using more flags by increasing the multiplier beside the dome containing your three dice.

As you gather your Snow Racers flags to get ready for when the racing begins on January 9 at 11AM EST, be sure to check your friends list in the Snow Racers event tab to work on building a team of four players for the event. You can opt to leave your team all the way up until the racing begins, too, so don’t feel trapped if you end up with a team you’re unhappy with – you can back out of the team and re-suggest friends and other players as normal.

Your best bet for choosing teammates during the Snow Racers event is to partner up with the most active players on your friends list. If there’s a player you know you’re often able to hit successfully during Shutdown minigames on the Railroad tiles, it may be best to look elsewhere for a partner. Since Snow Racers is scored based on how you place in each of the three races, you’ll want to have the most active players on your team to help you carry the weight of competing.

Use Your Flags To Spin Around The Snow Racers Track To Win Prizes

As you begin to use the Snow Racers flags you’ve been collecting, you’ll notice that your team earns lap rewards for completing a certain number of laps around the Snow Racers racetrack. These start off as fairly low milestones, but they do get progressively higher as each race goes on. These rewards are individualized, meaning everyone on your team can choose whichever Snow Racers rewards they’d like when it’s time to pick from the lap rewards.

However, the grand prizes for the event are both cumulative and shared. This means that all four of you on your team are sharing the point total, so when points are tallied at the end of the event on January 12, once all three races are completed, you and your teammates will each receive the event reward you earned together for placing first, second, third, or fourth, depending on how your team scored throughout the event.

The game will keep track of which place you finish in during each race and show you a cumulative tally after every race. As such, you may not want to spend all your flags during the first race, since you’ve still got two more to compete in throughout the weekend and the first race is the easiest race for which you’ll be earning Snow Racers flags.

At the end of each race, check out where your team finished so you know what kind of points you’ll need for the races ahead if you’d like to end the Snow Racers event this weekend in Monopoly Go with the top prize, which include a new board token, a new wintry racing emoji, a Wild Sticker to allow you to choose any sticker you’re missing from the soon-ending Jingle Joy albums, and a Purple Sticker Pack to offer your best chance and earning a rare new sticker before the Jingle Joy season ends on January 16.

Play With A Team Of Four, Or Play By Yourself (For Different Prizes)

For the first time, we’re now able to opt into playing Snow Racers on a one-person team instead of partying up with three others! If you like playing the Tycoon Racers events in Monopoly Go but often find yourself feeling let down by teammates who don’t quite pull their weight when it comes to earning and spending flags for the team, you can instead opt into being the master of your own Snow Racers destiny!

Earning different prizes for playing Snow Racers solo versus with a team in Monopoly Go.

To choose to play by yourself instead of with a team, simply tick the slider at the bottom of the partner invite screen that says “I want to play solo!” When you toggle the button for this option, you’ll receive a pop-up asking if you’re sure of your decision. To confirm, click the orange “Race Solo” button at the bottom of the pop-up, and the game will instead put you on a team of one, pairing you with other solo racers instead of making you hope to compete in a one-versus-four-player Tycoon Racers event.

You can opt into this until the racing begins on January 9, whether you’ve joined a team yet. It appears as though you’ll still earn the two cosmetics offered as the championship rewards should you place first – the Snowmobile board token and the new Winter Racing emoji – but the sticker packs you’ll receive are different if you choose to go the race alone. Where team players earn a Wild Sticker and a purple sticker pack, your top prize includes a blue and pink sticker pack instead.
