It’s our lucky day, because Capcom is offering us another chance to play the Monster Hunter Wilds beta ahead of the imminent launch. So if you missed the first beta, or just fancy taking even more of the many weapons for a spin, this will be your last chance ahead of release. This next beta has a new monster, rewards for the full game, and more to sink your teeth into, so it’s worth returning to Wilds if you also tried it in 2024.
The Monster Hunter Wilds release date is mere weeks away at this point, and to celebrate Capcom is holding a second beta for the upcoming RPG. The biggest addition to the second Monster Hunter Wilds beta is easily the Gypceros, a returning monster from the rest of the series. The Gypceros is a bird wyvern, and it uses dizzying flashes, poison, and an elastic tail to defend itself – so you’ll have quite the challenge compared to the first Monster Hunter Wilds beta.
Capcom says “Adjustments including performance, weapon changes, Hitstop, quality-of-life improvements, and more will not be present or reflected in the second open beta test build.” So if you’re eager to experience the Monster Hunter Wilds changes, you’re not going to find any of them in this new beta.
If you play open beta test 2 you’ll be rewarded the Stuffed Felyne Teddy pendant, so you can decorate your favorite weapon in the full game. You’ll also be given an item pack when you start Monster Hunter Wilds proper, which will give you extra potions, rations, tools, and everything else you need to start hunting with ease.
The second Monster Hunter Wilds open beta is split into two parts. The first runs from Thursday February 6 to Sunday February 9, and the second from Thursday February 13 to Sunday February 16.
As you prepare for the second beta don’t forget to check out all the best Monster Hunter Wilds weapons, alongside a breakdown of what the new Monster Hunter Wilds Focus Mode is and how it works.
