Welcome to Athkatla.
Thankfully, you can take long rests in your own campsite. Each location has a campsite with a unique look, but you can add your own personal flair if you want a camp that’s more homey or one that reflects your characters best. With a little creativity, you can use all the various knick-knacks you find around the world to revamp your camp.
1
A Cozy Dining Area
After a long day of adventuring, your party needs to refresh themselves with a hearty meal. Of course, such a hardworking team shouldn’t have to eat while sitting on the dirt. Make a nice dining spot with a beautiful view using crates and stools found around the camp. Lay down silverware and plates you find from your travels to make a fancier dining setup.
Your camp decorations will only last until the camp remains available to you. When you leave an Act, your camp may no longer be accessible and your items laid out will return to your chest.
Make sure to place all your favorite dishes on the crates for a savory feast for the whole gang. You can even amp up the romance by placing a few candles on the crates.
2
Create A Book Club Corner
Several companions have expressed interest in reading books.
Gale
is obviously a bookworm with his extensive knowledge of arcana and history. Even Astarion can be seen with a book in hand during his downtime.

The wildly different personalities only lead to the best banter between companions in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Shadowheart and Wyll have even had a discussion about trashy novels they’ve enjoyed in the past. It would certainly strengthen the squad’s bonds to have an area where they can have a book club and discuss their favorite reads in between bloody battles.
3
Tav Deserves A Tent
Every companion has a tent with decor that reflects their colorful personalities. It’s only right that a Tav also has a tent that reflects their own. Pick a spot to place a bedroll on and decorate it with your favorite items.
Surround your bedroll with your favorite book, a trophy from your travels, and more items to showcase what type of Tav you are. A
Dark Urge
can also opt to make their personal space a little bloodier with some guts and corpses gathered from battles.
4
A Well-Stocked Kitchen
Apart from fancy tableware, you’ll also find items that would fit right in a kitchen. It’s a little-known fact that Gale cooks the meals for the party, and you can give him a station to exercise his culinary abilities.

Why rest up the easy way when you could do it the hard way?
Lay down some crates that can serve as a surface for your kitchenware. You can place cauldrons and pots that can be found in various buildings, and these can be filled with food such as vegetables and meat. Add more flair to the area with a few barrels and bottles. You can even put alchemy ingredients for more color to the mix.
5
Make The Magic Mirror More Fabulous
The
Magic Mirror
in your camp isn’t just for checking yourself out. You can also change your appearance to sport a completely new look. That makes the surrounding area a suitable spot to place more items for getting a makeover.
Leave a chest by the mirror filled with all the clothing you find or take from the unfortunate folks you defeat in your battles. Lay down all sorts of clothing items, accessories, and dyes by the mirror to show that the team truly dresses to impress. You can even place items for cleaning yourself up such as soap and a bucket to get rid of the bloodstains you got all over yourself after your battles.
6
Add Corners Of Culture
There are plenty of oddities and trinkets that you can pick up along your travels, be it from exploring abandoned villages or from stealing from wealthy nobles. They don’t offer any real utility, but they can spruce up the look of your camp to make it more homely.

Pick a corner of your camp that could use some love and place some beautiful pottery down for a splash of color. You can even use some alchemy ingredients to add a floral touch to the surface. There are also plenty of unique paintings available around that can make the spot fancy and eye-catching.
7
Decorate The Campfire Area
The spot by your campfire doesn’t only have to be a boring collection of bedrolls. Make the area livelier by decorating this section of your camp. What better items to have by a campfire than some instruments for wild music nights? Leave around lutes, drums, and other instruments for companions to pick up and jam with.
The items you leave out by the campfire show up when the sleep animation plays out. You can paint a different picture of how the camp’s night went by decorating this section any way you see fit.
You can also add refreshments around to make it look like your companions spend the night having a blast when they’re not out raiding unlucky goblin camps and villages.
8
Get Creative With Lighting
Oftentimes, all a location needs for an elevated look is bright and beautiful lighting. You can line up paths around the camp with various types of lighting to give the place a romantic feel. Candles can be found throughout the world, and they can be placed down to give sections a dim glow at night.
For an even more unique look, you can place Nautiloid Tanks for a beautiful purple light that can wow your camp visitors. Bottles of Alchemist’s Fire also give off a reddish glow and can be placed on various surfaces.
