The God Valley Incident remains one of One Piece’s greatest mysteries while simultaneously being one of its most important moments. At the current moment, very little is known about what happened on the island, only that the Celestial Dragon’s Native Hunting Competition was held here but was interrupted by the presence of the Rocks Pirates, the Roger Pirates, and the Marines, who were led by Vice Admiral Garp.
Another confirmed fact about the God Valley Incident of One Piece was that the winners of the Native Hunting Competition were to be given incredible prizes, of which there were 6. Judging by how 2 of these prizes are confirmed and seeing how powerful they are, the same can be speculated about the rest of them as well. So, let’s go over the prizes of the Native Hunting Competition on God Valley and see why they were so desired in the first place.

What Were The Known Treasures Of God Valley?
The Few Treasures Known To Fans
Kaido’s Devil Fruit |
Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu – Fish-Fish Fruit, Model: Azure Dragon |
---|---|
Kuma’s Devil Fruit |
Nikyu Nikyu no Mi – Paw-Paw Fruit |
Of the 6 treasures of God Valley, only two are confirmed, while a third has a ton of speculation surrounding it. The first of these is the Uo Uo no Mi, Model Seiryu, one of the strongest Devil Fruits that has ever been shown in the series and currently belongs to a former Emperor of the Sea, Kaido. During the God Valley Incident, Kaido was a new member of the Rocks Pirates and was unwittingly cast into the battle. At the time, he was still quite powerful but nowhere near the level of strength that he eventually reached during Wano.
During this event, Big Mom eventually stole the Uo Uo no Mi from the World Nobles and let Kaido eat it. This is a Mythical Zoan Fruit that allows the user to transform into a gigantic dragon that has control over many different elemental abilities and was so strong that Luffy needed to activate Gear 5 in order to finally defeat him. Due to its legendary strength and stature as a Mythical Zoan fruit, it was an extremely important treasure of the Celestial Dragons.
People say, “In a one-on-one fight, always bet on Kaido.” Land, sea, and air – out of every living thing in the world, this pirate is said to be the strongest creature alive!
The other confirmed God Valley treasure was one of the most powerful and unique Paramecia Type Devil Fruits of all time; the Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. Although there is a general trend of Mythical Zoans typically being the strongest Devil Fruits, this isn’t always the case as some Paramecia types are strong enough to compete with them, namely Whitebeard’s quake fruit. The Nikyu Nikyu no Mi is also such an example.
This fruit allows its user to repel anything by using the paws that are grown on their hands upon eating it. While this doesn’t sound like anything special at first glance, the things that can be repelled can be physical or even conceptual, since Kuma is able to repel things such as pain and memories from people’s bodies. Other than this, Kuma can also essentially teleport himself and others with a swipe of his hands to places he has previously been to, regardless of how far they are from his location. At some point during the Native Hunting Competition, he stole the fruit from the Celestial Dragons and eventually ate it.
The third treasure of God Valley that fans know about is a little more difficult to pin down the exact information of. During the events of a special chapter, it was revealed that Gol D. Roger had found Shanks in a chest after the events of God Valley. While this doesn’t confirm anything about Shanks himself being the prize since he could have been put there, there is still some speculation about what it truly may have been.
In the scene of the Roger Pirates finding Shanks in the chest, the baby is lying on top of a huge pile of gold, so it’s entirely possible that the prize of this specific chest was incredible riches. Since One Piece: Red seems to confirm that Shanks is a member of the Figarland family of Celestial Dragons, some fan theories state that his likely father, Figarland Garling, may have hidden him in the chest to protect him from the invading pirate forces.

What Are The Other Treasures?
The Remaining Prizes of God Valley
As of now, the only things that can be said about the remaining treasures of God Valley are pure speculation. However, judging by how important and powerful the confirmed treasures are, it’s not a stretch to assume that the remaining ones are also incredibly powerful Devil Fruits, either those that have already been shown or those that fans currently know nothing about. It is said that Rocks arrived in God Valley to retrieve the stolen treasure of Hachinosu which the World Government took from him.
Because of this, the ultimate prize of the Native Hunting Festival may just be this thing that Rocks valued so much. Many even think that among these prizes was a legendary Supreme Grade Weapon, since that is an object that may even rival a powerful Devil Fruit in value. Whatever these prizes were, Oda will definitely reveal more about them once fans get a much more detailed retelling of the God Valley Incident.
