Mesh gaming chairs are a breathable alternative to bulky memory foam chairs. Still, gamers in unusually hot or cold environments may seek even more comfort. At CES 2025, Razer just raised the curtain on Project Arielle to bring climate control to gaming chairs. Based on the ergonomic Razer Fujin Pro, Arielle is a concept with fanless blades and integrated heating. We don’t know when the chair will hit the market, but it’s sure to be popular on the convention floor.
Project Arielle Appeals To Fujin Pro Fans
The Project Arielle and Fujin Pro are virtually identical in shape. Still, the Arielle is much easier to pick out in a crowd. Some gamers bemoaned the Fujin Pro’s lack of flair with its stealthy black design. However, Razer’s concept chair sports RGB lighting around the seat back, seat base, and a Snake logo on the headrest. The lighting also indicates whether heating or cooling is active. Razer’s presser isn’t specific about adjustments, but the tilt mechanism hints at a generous reclining range. The knob on the back of the Arielle indicates that the chair has adjustable lumbar support.
The fanless blade mechanism on its backside separates Project Arielle from other top gaming chairs. This more efficient type of cooling, championed by brands like Dyson, has become increasingly common in households.
As airflow is generated, it’s distributed around the backrest. Then, the air escapes through the front-facing vents. Fanless cooling operates quietly and won’t distract gamers playing without headsets. Mesh material rejects body heat buildup, but Arielle makes players feel up to 5 degrees Celsius cooler in low-humidity settings.
Project Arielle also provides warmth to gamers suffering through frigid winters. The chair employs PTC heating to generate a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius warm air. Positive temperature coefficient heating is used in electric vehicles because of its efficiency. The Arielle warms up almost immediately and has safeguards to avoid overheating.
The Arielle includes conveniently placed controls on the seat’s edge to adjust temperatures. This touch panel enables gamers to increase or decrease the chair’s cooling or heating power. However, the Arielle requires a quick-release power cable, which could somewhat limit its appeal. I reviewed the Mavix M7, which had a rechargeable massage unit with heating and cooling. On the other hand, its effects were limited to the lumbar region rather than circulating around the seat back.
