You might have noticed Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s latest Wonder Pick event is already live this morning when you went to open the first of your daily packs. However, you won’t have known that based on anything the game’s developers have told you. Even though one part of the event is now live, nothing official about it or what else it will include has been revealed, which makes the arrival of bonus picks without any fanfare rather odd.
The latest bonus pick event is much like all of the others to have come before it during Pokemon Pocket’s first two and a bit months. Players have the chance to make Wonder Picks without using any of their hourglasses or tokens. Each pick will have a one-in-five chance of returning a Squirtle or Charmander card, with hourglasses and shop tickets for the Blastoise event among the constellation prizes.
There will also be Chansey Picks that guarantee you get a card.

As for why the bonus picks have gone live before the planned start of the event, and without an official announcement, that remains unclear. Dataminers already revealed when exactly the event would go live and what it will include (thanks, IGN), and the belief was that it would begin tomorrow on January 8, 2025. As it stands, until Pokemon says otherwise, it’s probably safe to assume that everything else discovered about the event will be rolled out tomorrow.
Part Of Pokemon Pocket’s Next Wonder Pick Event Is Already Live
Everything Else Will Likely Join It Tomorrow, As Planned
Since there has already been a datamine, everything else joining the bonus picks has already been unofficially revealed. Presumably starting tomorrow, Pocket players will also have missions to complete, most of which will be connected to how many times you Wonder Pick. Part two of the event, which is believed to begin a week from tomorrow on January 15, will provide more chances to unlock items for Wonder Picking but will also include missions that task you with collecting Water and Fire-type cards.
As for what you can spend your currently useless Blastoise tickets on once the event officially goes live, again like other events, there will be a special section of the shop dedicated to themed items in which those tickets can be spent. Part one of the event will add various items featuring Blue and Blastoise, and then part two will add to the haul with a coin, a playmat, and perhaps the most sought-after item in any of these collections, an emblem.
