New Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop looks stunning, packs in an Nvidia RTX 5090

Razer has come out swinging as CES 2025 kicks off in Las Vegas. With Nvidia and AMD showing off all their new hardware options, from graphics cards to processors, Razer is combining their forces into one new Razer gaming laptop, the new Blade 16 2025.

The Razer Blade 16 will come with a laptop version of the Nvidia RTX 5090, which Nvidia announced at CES 2025. It packs 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM and tops out at 155W of power for some beastly performance on the go.

As it’s sporting an RTX 5000 GPU, it’ll also have access to the latest version of Nvidia’s supersampling software, DLSS 4. The updated AI-powered DLSS will be supported by an initial 75 games, including Cyberpunk 2077 which launches later this year.

In a demo using the desktop version of the RTX 5090, Nvidia showed the game hitting nearly 250fps using the new multi-frame generation technique.

Razer isn’t stopping there, as the Blade 16 is packing AMD’s new AMD Ryzen AI laptop chips. We’ve already seen these start to hit mini PCs and handhelds with excellent performance results. Now, it’ll be the backbone of the laptop.

The company has opted for the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. Razer isn’t shy to point out it falls in line with Microsoft’s AI push, with its included Neural Processing Unit (NPU) able to hit a maximum of 50 TOPS (trillion operations per second). Yes, this does mean it’ll be primed for all those CoPilot+ and AI tools being crammed into Windows 11.

Looking further than the insides, Razer is still equipped with last year’s OLED panel, with a 240Hz refresh rate. It’s going to be an overkill laptop for esports, in terms of performance, but that screen will be a huge boon for twitch-heavy titles.

Razer also points out that they’ve updated the keyboard, with “improved typing responsiveness”. The keys will also be able to be pressed deeper, with a new 1.5mm travel.

There’s no pricing or concrete date set for its release. So far, all Razer has said is that it’ll be available in the first quarter of 2025. However, it’s clear that the Razer Blade 16 is going to be a dominant force in the best gaming laptops scene going forward.
