Warframe: 21 Best Amps, Ranked

Amps are crucial for getting the most out of a Warframe, but what are the best combinations in the game?

Unfortunately for players with limited time to play Warframe, Neurode farming might be much harder if they take a tour across all locations throughout the system. Thankfully, there are prime spots for Neurodes that can make a player’s time more worthwhile.

1

Tikal

Early-Game Mission For Neurodes Farming

Tikal

Planet, Type

Earth, Excavation (Dark Sector)

Weapon Level Recommendations

0-5

Estimated Drop Rate

1-2

One of the best places for players to embark on Neurode farming would be Tikal, an Earth-based Dark Sector Excavation Mission. Thanks to the Mission’s Dark Sector bonus, they get a +15% Resource Drop Chance and a +12% Affinity Bonus with a bonus of +8% Affinity Bonus for melee weapons, making the mission ideal for melee combatants. Regional resources that can be acquired in the mission include Ferrite, Rubedo, and Detonite Ampule. Unlocking Tikal means having to finish “Saya’s Vigil,” a Main Quest on the Plains of Eidolon.

As Tikal is an Excavation Mission, players need to roam around this Grineer Forest tileset to look for Neuroptic Masses and kill enemies they encounter. Given how this stage exists early in the game, players shouldn’t worry much about the enemies being a threat – unranked weapons can still work with this mission, and players can test their Warframe loadouts on this mission without having to risk getting unnecessarily killed.

2

Mariana

Easy-Peasy Extermination Mission

Mariana

Planet, Type

Earth, Exterminate

Warframe Level Recommendations

0+

Weapon Level Recommendations

0-5

Estimated Drop Rate

1-2

Being a location on Earth, Mariana is one of the first missions players will encounter in their Warframe experience. As an Exterminate mission, players simply need to traverse Mariana and eliminate every enemy they encounter – making this quite the enjoyable fast-paced mission for players who want to collect Neurodes just by killing virtually every enemy they see. Other rewards for the mission include Ferrite, Rubedo, and Detonite Ampule.

Unlike other farming locations, Mariana being an early-game mission means it has quite a small map – and therefore should help players clear its objectives rather quickly. Enemies being Levels 1 to 3 make Mariana an even more streamlined Extermination mission, making this the ideal training ground for players looking to optimize low-ranking weapons. The replayability of the mission is a testament to Warframe being among today’s best live-service titles, especially with how easy it is to grind through the mission.

3

Mantle

Small-Sized, Convenient Capture Mission

Mantle

Planet, Type

Earth, Capture

Warframe Level Recommendations

0

Weapon Level Recommendations

0-5+

Estimated Drop Rate

1-2

Mantle is one of the earliest missions players can encounter in Warframe, this time taking place on Earth. As a Capture mission, players need to incapacitate and capture a person of interest before they make their escape. Being a Capture mission, players have the opportunity to finish the main mission in Mantle while still having enough time to scour the map to hunt for Neurodes.

All Warframe Landing Craft Air Support, Ranked

Need to call in additional support to complete a mission? Here’s a list of all Warframe air support for landing crafts.

After the target is captured, Lotus will ask players to eliminate all targets – turning the mission into an Exterminate mission. This allows players to leisurely tour the map and eliminate enemies for Neurodes. The small map tileset is also advantageous for players in the mid-game or end-game who want to focus on their Neurode farming, as the straightforward mission and smaller area means players can finish the mission quickly and replay it as soon as they’re able to. Mods like the Loot Radar can make it much easier to look for Neurodes as well.

4

Tycho

A Taste Of Higher-Level Endless Fighting

Tycho

Planet, Type

Lua, Survival

Warframe Level Recommendations

10+

Weapon Level Recommendations

10+

Estimated Drop Rate

2-4

A Survival mission set in Lua, Tycho forces players to fight a near-endless wave of enemies for as long as they possibly can while slowly depleting their life support. If the Life Support Tower is destroyed, the player fails their mission. Thankfully, surviving certain waves will have Lotus drop life support capsules as well as health orbs to help the player recuperate in between fights. Other materials available throughout the mission are Ferrite, Rubedo, and Detonite Ampules. Other rewards also include several Mods such as Flow, Hell’s Chamber, Hornet Strike, Serration, Split Chamber, and Stabilizer. Parts also include Neos A13, G8, L4, P7, QA1, W2, and Z11 – perfect for a wide range of Warframes.

As a Survival mission, players in the late-game will enjoy farming Neurodes as they pulverize foe after foe before ultimately getting their Life Support Tower destroyed. Due to how this stage has Level 25 to Level 30 enemies, players are advised to have a more powerful Warframe and a decently-ranked weapon to survive. Players who love taking things up close and personal should try a Shotgun-based loadout.

5

Mutalist Alad V Infested

Ideally A Team-Based Assassination

Mutalist Alad V

Planet, Type

Eris, Assassination

Warframe Level Recommendations

15+

Weapon Level Recommendations

15+

Estimated Drop Rate

1-3

Players will fondly recall Alad V as the most recurring Corpus boss due to his position as the Head of Grineer Relations and the Corpus Board of Directors. While players eventually have to kill him (repeatedly) during the Alad V Assassination Mission for Valkyr parts, Alad V also invents the Mutalist Strain Infestation on Eris that transforms him into an Infested – the Mutalist Alad V Infested. Players who complete the “Patient Zero” quest will get the Mutalist Alad V Assassinate Key Blueprint, the creation of which will trigger the Assassination mission.

While Mutalist Alad V isn’t the most difficult boss players will face, it’s ideal they take their most-developed Warframe and a full party to get the job done as soon as possible and enjoy the potential Neurodes drop. Not only that, killing him for the first time gives players the Mesa Chassis, unlocking one of the game’s most stylish Warframes.

6

Magnacidium

A Three-Headed Challenge For Neurodes

Magnacidium

Planet, Type

Deimos, Assassination

Warframe Level Recommendations

10+

Weapon Level Recommendations

20+

Estimated Drop Rate

1-2

The Infested Mars moon of Deimos will be a sight to a devastating Assassination mission in the form of Magnacidium, of which players have to fight the multi-headed Lephantis. Teams of players will have to anticipate the deadly Toxin clouds and poison grenades of the Infested Corpus head, the scythe-sweeping Infested Grineer head, and the exploding Spore Bombs of the Ancient Infested.

Despite the challenge facing the boss’s three-headed nature, the fight is worthwhile as the heads may drop Orokin Cells and Neurodes when destroyed. Another motivator to pursue this mission aside from Neurodes would be the rest of its reward pool, of which there’s always a 33.33% chance of either a Nekros Chassis Blueprint, Nekros Neuroptics Blueprint, or Nekros System Blueprint dropping for players to acquire.

7

Terrorem

One Of The Best Survival Missions For Neurodes

Terrorem

Planet, Type

Deimos, Survival

Warframe Level Recommendations

10+

Weapon Level Recommendations

5-10+

Estimated Drop Rate

2-4

Made available to players shortly after they unlock Mars, the Terrorem Survival Mission is a worthwhile challenge for players to spam not just for its challenge but the fact that it can consistently spawn Neurodes. Due to the relative length of Deimos missions, Terrorem is a likely suitable farming ground for players who want to grind the mid-game to early end-game – making the Survival mission also an interesting way to see how players slowly adjust their loadouts as they unlock more content in their Warframe experience.

Plato

A Challenging But Worthwhile Exterminate Mission

Plato

Planet, Type

Lua, Exterminate

Warframe Level Recommendations

10+

Weapon Level Recommendations

5-10+

Estimated Drop Rate

2-4

It’s not all the time that a mission is generous toward a resource like Neurodes, making Plato in Lua quite the popular Survival mission for players. However, the general difficulty of the Exterminate challenge means players should likely start it only with a fully-kitted team – especially when things can get overwhelming rather quickly when left unchecked given how the enemies are between Levels 25 to Level 40. Players who want to play it safe should probably consider using the game’s Sniper Rifles to strike at a distance.

Sentinels are a prime target for Neurodes throughout the mission. Other rewards after ending it include the Octavia S systems Blueprint, Plastids, Polymer Bundles, and Rubedo. The game also has an abundance of Argon Crystals, Orokin Cells, Tellurium, and Xiphos Engines Blueprints.

9

Zabala

Endgame Survival For Dedicated Farmers

Zabala

Planet, Type

Eris, Survival (Dark Sector)

Warframe Level Recommendations

15+

Weapon Level Recommendations

15-20+

Estimated Drop Rate

1-2

Eris being a dwarf planet close to the furthest edges of the Sol System means it’s a long way to go for players to reach it in their Star Charts – which also makes it the site of one of the most challenging endgame Survival missions in the game: Zabala. This mission takes players deep into the former Corpus territory as the dwarf planet is now completely overrun by the Infested. Being a Dark Sector mission, players also enjoy a +30% Resource Drop Chance, +23% Affinity Bonus, and another +18% Affinity Bonus for Pistols.

Aside from getting Neurodes, players can also get Neos A13, G8, L4, P7, Q1, W2, and Z11 – giving them access to materials for some of the game’s more popular Prime gear. Surviving the onslaught of the Infested here will test the player’s endurance and builds, making it ideal for them to get fully-kitted Warframes alongside other party members.

Plains Of Eidolon

An Open World Worthy Of The Exploration

Plains of Eidolon

Planet, Type

Earth, Open-World

Warframe Level Recommendations

20+

Weapon Level Recommendations

20-30

Estimated Drop Rate

1+

Players who want to take a break from doing repetitive missions and just want to passively earn Neurodes will enjoy touring the Plains of Eidolon as they make progress. Essentially a quasi-open world that players can freely explore to fight various opponents in their encampments, the Plains of Eidolon isn’t just the player’s first full-blown explorable area – but rather a zone they constantly return to as they make progress throughout the game.

To gain Neurodes in the Plains of Eidolon, players can just tour locations with their Loot Detector, Animal Instinct, and Thief’s Wit. They need to stay on guard and locate Neuroptic Masses as they need to be destroyed to acquire Neurodes.
